I myself, have to give a complete and total "Woot!!!!" here. Really happy you're back and taking control your forum again Sculli ^^.
 
Pupusa did a great job, without him QCDN would have found it's end the day I had to leave. Recently he himself got extemely busy in real life and just didn't have the time for it anymore. I am glad I was able to track him down to continue on with QCDN.
 
Yeah, lots of IRL stuff got him away from things he liked to do, FF, WoW, hell just hanging out was damn near impossible. Just wondering though, if you are going to be Admin of the site again, does that mean that you are comming back to FF any time soon?

If so, welcome back. If not... well uh, thanks for taking back the boards since Pup isnt able to anymore. He said that he was planning on passing it over to someone, but i didnt think it would be you. Glad it is someone who has experience with all the foolishness that goes on here :P

If I were to return to FF I'd have to start over again. I think someone still owes me 80k or something, I'd have to look through some old posts here [Edit: Mithy/java = deadbeat ]. When I left I gave all my stuff away (what little there was).

Not entirely sure whether I would return to the game. FFXI is very party centric, and I just don't know whether I could dedicate large blocks of time to exp grind parties. But the jury is still out. At $30 for the original game, and the two expansions it's not a bad value.

As far as things that will change goes, I don't think there will be anything unreasonable happening. I do plan to refresh the mod squad with people who are willing and able to do the job (yeah, it's more work than fun, really) as needed.

Sockpuppets will have a hard time with me. The rule about them hasn't been put in place yet, but it will be. One account per user, no alter egos.

There will be some behind the scenes changes to phpbb to make things run more smoothly. I will purge all users flagged as inactive (never confirmed their accounts), all users with 0 posts who have not been to the board in 180 days.

There is a remote possibility to change to vBulletin, but if that's going to happen it won't be within the next few weeks.

Sig rules will be revisited.

Other than that, business as usual I suppose. QCDN will stay a free forum for everyone, ad free as well (in case this was a concern).
 
Sculli, if you're worried about the party situation you could always just take whm to 30 and then unlock bst. That way you'd be good to go til your bst was a minimum of 60. Just an idea.

Shakaar would definitely be a great person to chat with further about that if you're interested^^. He is the bst of bst's imho.
 
Sounds like a dream come true *tear*

As far as FFXI, I can guaruntee you need only spend 30 levels in a party if you so chose (save missions/quests).

Beastmaster is a very solo friendly job, and many Beastmasters have successfully leveled their WHM subs from 1-37 as WHM/BST. You could be completely self sufficient should you choose, and the only time you'd have to join a party would be for missions/quests, and those initial 30 levels (so you can get the BST advanced job).

Shakaar is somewhat of a neighbour, he lives like 30 miles down the road, and considering that the next town is like 360 miles down the road, 30 miles seems close. ;)

Yeah, BST is the new RNG which is saddly the OLD RNG. Everyone seems to be doing it lately and they are all having tons of fun. Me included^^.
 
Are you serious? Not sure how I feel about that...I don't want to see BST looked at the same way I used to look at RNG (mostly egotistical, power hungry)...

Soloers will always be considered somewhat of an odd crowd. It comes with the territory and is true for pretty much any MMO.

Only in the respect that there is a sudden surge in the amount of people doing it now. Before the Rng nerf, there were alot of them. Now, you can go to Korroloka Tunnel and see like 5 diffenrent BSTs there at any given time.

BTW, any clue where i can lvl at 31? (sorry to hijack but its quicker this way :P )

Don't know yet. First things first, I need to get admin before I can do anything. Pupusa may have changed his mind! Haha, uhm ..., just kidding, ... I think. He wasn't sure whether he would make it today or not. It will likely happen in the next couple of days.

There are obviously a lot of users that I know nothing about. If someone is interested in the LS or AH mod job, feel free to PM me. I will consult with some of the long standing members to see what they have to pitch in and then make a call.

Basically it comes down to this; Unless one is willing and able to check the boards several times a day, and spend some time during each time to skim through the posts that have been made in their respective forum, there is really no need to apply.

Being a mod is like adopting a highway. You get a lot of cleaning up to do, and just when you think you are done someone will have littered again.
 
Or in the case of the Flameboard, people will scream and moan and say the trash deserves to be out there every time you try to clean it.
