okay this is a rather odd "good times" thing but.. I'm just overwhelmingly pleased with this job. I took whm to 19 in early dec and let it basically rot. I did NOT like the job at all.. it was a (forgive me _(._.)_) "gimp rdm".

I started out as a 19whm/9blm and got an invite before I flagged up.. trotted out to Qufim.. weird setup.. I feel terrible but I do not recall the setup well, it was along the lines of 2 blu, a war/mnk, blm, and... I think.. a pup. We kicked Worm butt. Moved up to Snippers and I got most the way into 21... then my power died... so that ended that..

Next day, I log in and get owned by a Gigas before my screen loads.. not a good start.. a nice Pup invites me.. Otaru, 19pup/9rdm. Okay!
We went along starting with a war/mnk I believe, a blu, cor, and blm. We swapped out as needed and ended doing the most damage (in Delkfutts now) was a galka mnk/war Milkgoesmoo... absolutely incredible tanking.. he had to go and we got a pld.. who was soft and squishy in comparison o.O; but it was still fun.. we hit 25 and left to Yuhtunga! (3 airships later) where we went to 27 before it was late and we decided to disband.

Today I snagged a makeshift pt (2x war/nin(Blazeoffury and Mystifa), pup/rdm(Otaru, yay!), a Thf/Nin Ardougne, and a Blu/Whm named Heart who later left for DaoDao a Brd/Whm. 27-31 and plenty of fun.

I know it may not be much but I am really loving a job I thought I'd hate.. I'm just happy so I thought i'd post this.. as I right now head out to Sau(tab) to kill weapons for 32 and Erase ^^

Always nice to have more converts. :biggrin: Glad you enjoy the job now. It can be a lot of fun if you let it.

I love WHM, it's incredibly convenient. I can get anywhere quickly, plus sneak, invis, and reraise III are great for exploring. Hardly lose any exp when I die...and I die a lot ><
 
Haha, sounds greats! I'm a melee at heart, but I may take up a Mage Job again, someday.
 
Heh the only reason Shaid likes whm is cause she had a badass tank today :D...

Lol... yea... right... anyways I'm glad to see another whm upcoming. It just means that I may not have to go as whm to some event some time down the road :D
 
Blaze did perform masterfully as War/nin :D

Update on the Sau(tab) party.. 31-32 and only 3k tnl ^^ Got erase! yay... totally wrecked weapons with nin/war, mnk/war, blu/???, smn/whm, thf/nin.. only death was a bad pull, I was in a pt with 4 Taru ; ; it was crazy..

Much fun!

WHM is the most fun when you have an incredibly shite pt, because THEN, it becomes a challange!
 
Agreed. Depending on a party's setup, I can get to feeling really worthless. Some parties have been so good (or bad, depending on how you look at it) I could rest for an entire fight if I needed to. I almost relish seeing those HP bars dip into the red. Almost, because I know I'm next when I get those bars out of the yellow. ;)

I've stuck with some really lousy parties at times because it's the best opportunity to figure out economy of time and resources.
 
But don't you hate it when you realize it's just a sub, and you wish you'd liked it sooner?

That's how it was for my RDM, except it wasn't a sub, it was a job that I was going to take up to 60, and end it at that. I was supposed to get my PLD to 75 and then Black Mage, that was my goal.

And Monday, for the first time, I actually liked Red Mage. I don't know why I decided to like it. :wacko:
 
i sub whm for my rdm main, and i like it. i don;t mind being asked to main heal as a rdm. hell i wil start apt and be main healer if i can find the right setup. i like to have 2 nin tanks though, real easy on my mp. i took my whm through the dunes, and in one day we got 11-18, we had 3 pl's. it was a little ridiculous. good thing i leanred to main heal with my rdm, or i would just be another noob being pl'ed through the dunes.

Yeah Frost, it is sad I spent so much time/gil on Rdm now.. however I will undoubtably take WhM to 60 now... If not further.. I just want 37 for now then I will take Rdm up again since rdm is my endgame job.. (oh joy -.-) and the fact it's worth more than every other job's gear combined x3 ><

Fun times! Except today.. bad PT :/ 32-33 in about.. 2 hours >< nin couldnt keep shadows, Thf never landed sata WS, and war/thf.... well please god use war/mnk... was a terrible experience but whatever, another level down :D
 
whm {too weak} rdm/brd ftw! So much stuff to do on this you have to haste yourself to keep up though...

I bet my ninja's net worth is a whole lot more then you're rdm's.

And it's not even 65 yet >.<
 
yeah what stuff are you using on your rdm? Granted the AF sucks minus the hat and body but i've been using crows stuff. I also found that unless you are soloing, RDM gear isn't a huge deal. Most of your time is spent buffing the party and then i got some crows gear so that i can nuke/convert without taking hate.
 
only possible thing i can really think of off the top of my head is HQ staves for RDM..

EDIT:but rdm is probley one of the cheapest jobs other then that lol
 
I meant of MY jobs >.> not others....

Pluto's staff, 2 astrals, P.Rope, Sly Gauntlets, River Gaiters are my primary items... got a bunch of junk too but thats the main stuff... rest of my jobs are cheap... though Sam is close.

O ok. started to say you must have one hell of a red mage invetory to be worth 3x my ninja :D
 
If I was worth 1/2 your ninja I'd be happy
