Whitegate weirdness

After logging in with my mules and trimming the plants, I logged on to my main. The first time I entered the MH in Whitegate, everything crashed. After logging back in, I was able to talk to my moogle, but this Japanese character would appear next to my moogles name in the text box. I switched jobs no problem, then I tried to exit the MH. The screen that pops up asking if you would like to set your homepoint after switching jobs comes up, only there is no text in the spaces where you can choose yes or no, but instead a large = in the top left corner. I could still use my chat functions, but nothing else.

I had already removed recast from windower because the new update would kill POL, so I don't think that was the problem. I tried logging in with an older version of windower and when it came to the same "change homepoint" screen everything locked up. Has anyone had this problem or have heard anything like this? Does anyone have any idea on how to get off the "change homepoint" screen?

**** Ran file check. I had a corrupted file from when the update was interrupted.

I got that too, crash when talking to delivery npc and change job.
Did a check files on pol for FFXI and found corrupted files. No more crash after the fix, for now.

I had this problem, quick file scan fixed it right up.

I also kept crashing in Whitegate. I haaaaate running File Check (since it "fixes" all my custom dats) but was forced to. ;;
