Personally I still do not see what I am doing wrong. I blew 10k to get my Gold Smiting up to level 11 so I could make Silver Ingot, which everyone says are actually profitable. I go and check the AH’s for Silver Ore or Silver Beast coins and the price on them compared to the Selling Price of Silver Ingots is a money loss and not a small one at that.
Buy the silver ore at the guild 315gil each (on a good day) = 1260 + 200 (crystal) per ingot and they sell for 2000 min. Makes about 6k per stack...

There are far better ways to make money though. Do some research on gardening...

Thank you Blowy, I’ll have to keep a close eye on the guild and figure out what days are the best. My erratic schedule and not being able to login each day makes gardening very difficult, I have tired it before.

I dunno about you guys, but so many of the WHMs i PT use Erase a lot more than you guys say you use it. You guys are either in denial or don't use it enough. = /.

Rones, have two snipers etc and all the +acc gear doesnt make much of a difference when you have too much, the whole idea of diminishing returns, but many DD get it anyways just in case, much like a WHM should have Erase just in case.

Please elaborate on what they are using it 'a lot' on. For normal exp purposes as has already been explained it gets little use. Spiders and beetles being about the only exception (and only with a nin tank for beetles).

Bubble shower is a joke and not worth erasing as I explained earlier in this thread. My main problem with it is I lose out on 60-100 mp I could have got from resting instead of standing around casting erase. Second problem is by the time you get your 2nd erase off with its large cool down time the effect has weakened to a minor effect, and even when you have erased the effect, bubble shower is just going to be redone a few seconds later. So the whm just passed up resting up 60-100 mp and spent 36 mp erasing 2 melees just so the melees could get in 4-5 hits before bubble shower is refreshed (less for the 2nd and 3rd person getting erased). Might as well throw a banishga 2 and rest up during that time instead of standing around erasing the melees, woould result in more dmg than erasing the str down effects. And this isn't even touching on the fact that having to erase all these idiotic status effects over and over again during a fight tires out your whm player faster which results in poorer performance from them overall and less exp. Just ask any whm who has exped on torama how they feel after 3 hours and compare that to after exping for 3 hours on crawlers. Watching for al those little status effects (especially if you are trying to erase bubble shower) gets old.

I just erase the tank. Especially if it's a nin tank. Throw other erases to DD between other spells if you're up already. Also noticed the crawler slow at higher levels tends to knock out haste. What if you just cast hate on a DD and then your ninja gets hit with slow? Let him get the shit kicked outa him cause a slowed nin is a dead nin?

I have never had a crawler's slow overwrite my haste. Its easy for haste to wear off without you noticing and then him get hit with slow right after though giving the appearance of it overwriting.
What if you just cast haste on a DD and then your ninja gets hit with slow? Let him get the shit kicked outa him cause a slowed nin is a dead nin?
If a nin can't go 20 seconds without haste, something is seriously wrong. Good time for the rdm to step up and throw a haste on the nin if need be.

On double attack mobs like crawlers haste is critical to nin. Even with haste and monster slowed they will be struggling to keep shadows up.
As for if haste was taken down through timing or slow is irrelavant I suppose. Should haste be down in the first place? Naw. But it'll happen, and you need something to throw at the nin.

Another great thing about erase! Once I was running through Altepa and a worm aggroed me and cast bind. Did I stand around around and take it up the butt from some stupid worm? Hell no. Erased myself and ran out of range. That was worth 300k right there just in coolness!

Lol Fire.

Rones why would you intentionally avoid great leveling areas just to play with crabs and crawlers for 75 levels... thats not fun... If you cant fight bats/beetles/spiders/dhamels/Goobues/magic pots (the list goes on) whats the point of even playing :( They may as well have made Bahamut a giant crab model for pete's sakes.

these things can be fought without erase yes, but it makes the battles SO MUCH easier with it, its a night and day difference.

All i know is after spending a month inside the boyadah tree i wanted to burn it down and everything in it, and never wanted to see a crab/crawler again. I still feel sorry for anyone who has taken this road to 75, its boring! Why are you still playing! @_@ i would have been driven insane!

Also I find it extremely amusing that more BLM and RDM have erase from their sub(@lvl 64) than WHM do on their mains. [That's interesting.]

And yeah, accuracy has diminishing returns, (another subject entirely) so someone with +50 acc only hits a tiny bit more than someone with +40acc but someone with +10 acc hits a LOT more than someone with no+acc. Even though its minimally useful the melees get this extremely expensive over-the-top acc though. Moral here is minamally useful = worth it.

PS. Krono is STILL an idiot :)

For a whm, the less casting we have to do the better. Exping on stuff that spams status effects is not fun for me at least.

Dhamels-I only did these twice in bibibku bay and they were really bad exp. Took forever to kill.
Goobues-Only did these in upper boyada tree, they hit pld way to hard for normal tanking and nin's risked getting one shotted too much to make it worthwhile. Darters and Skimmers were much faster exp.
Pots-Never seen anyone exp on pots nor had it ever suggested in party. When and where do you do these? I hear of people doing them 72+ in sky.
Spiders-Exped them on them in boyada at 50 and they did too much dmg, I prefer antican in quicksand if I remember right for that lvl. Only other one was dragon's aery at 67-71, but I couldn't get a party to go there. Bibiki Bay gobs or Tormentor in Den of Rancor are usually better.
Beetles-evasion down only matters for nin tanks. Getting a nin tank and a beetle party is pretty rare. Problem is you only exp on beetles <51 which is sometimes kind of early for a whm to have erase even by your earlier statements. One of the few situations that could benefit from erase, but past Helm beetles in CN, you never see beetles again.
Bats-Fight them in garliege at 33-36 and then combined with beetles at 48-51 in garliege basement. Again, the evasion down is only worth erasing if you have a nin tank. These are bats usually T while people are exping on IT beetles in garliege basement at lvl 50, so evasion down doesn't hurt nin that much against T.

Nin tanks and War tanks... 2 of the 3. Also the later lvls the mobs tend to cast more often stuff like frost drown ext, and on a pld tank they can't rest and regen MPs without erase. These are also not strange or rarely used leveling spots. They are Ro'Maeve and King Ranp's Tomb and even earlier Upper Dulkfuit's Tower. In all of these places I have leveled my PLD and been unable to rest due to some NA WHM who never got erase.

Not popular but accepted hunting ground to fight pot.

59~61: Upper delkruft tower (11th floor)

Giants, Pots, Bats.

Dhamels in Bibiki were over 4k an hour in the three parties i've had there so far, blm bursting off light takes off half their HP. Heck the rdm was bursting for 600+ with aero3. Doing a light chain is essential, even if you have to do a 3man to make it go. What was your setup? Because they have that healing breeze you need to be able to take chunks of life off fast on those. (2 nin pts and one pally which was slower due to having 72's in group but still not bad.)

So whm prefer crabs forever?

Seriously?
:( :( :(

Also i hadnt even considered bio/diaIII, and the elemental debuffs you get off skellies in ranperres. I havent exp'd there yet myself. (hate hate hate skellies.)

oh and Pots are sky 72+ but also upper delk's at 60. Very nice exp there if the toramas are overcamped. Erasing gravity 2x a battle is easier on the whm than paralyna'ing and silena'ing the tank 4-5x a battle i think :P

Yeah had a whm with erase on those helm beetles while taking my ninja through crawlers nest. He was a replacement for one who had to logoff. He erased my evasion down and it was absolutely INSANE how much more i dodged and how much easier it was for me to keep shadows up. I don't expect the whm to have it at this point but it was SOOOOOOOOO NICE. exp went through the roof since he didnt use half his mana healing me while i casted desparately to keep up shadows.

Erasing eva down off the pld isnt essential to his job like nin or war, but I still see the whm do so. After all every dodge the tank gets no matter WHAT tank he is, can save the whm a cure later. Getting rid of gravity IS essential to any tank.

One last thing. Did you know bubble shower (and most stat down moves) stacks on itself? i don't remember the actual number ( i believe shower is str-7 but not sure.) if it does it over and over my str goes down again and again. by the end of the battle the melee arent hitting for half their normal output anymore and thats why the last centemeter of crab health wont go down. Weaponskills are off base str many times, so (in kuftal) my vorpal will do 0 <---I have seen this personally. I'm not saying the whm should bother erasing it, because it is wearing even as its reapplied, I'm just saying it is not 'a joke' because if spammed it will cripple your melee attackers. An erase towards the end of battle on just one of your melees will usually be enough to kill the crab. An old friend of mine did this for me for ages. (I helped him get the scroll off a BCNM.) ANd it seriously made a difference. Bubble is hardest on monks who rely on many small hits to do their job but the str down turns their punches into 0's.
