If i am not mistaken your pld is above level 40 or 45 and your saying that cure V is going to take hate?

Any good pld or nin is not going to lose hate to a cure V or any other cure spell from the whm or rdm and if they do they should be kicked from the pt that they are in.

Bumblebetuna you really need to STFU or stop leveling pld.

White mage can tank at lower levels, because there's really not much difference between the jobs at lower levels. The mobs are fairly weak and hate will bounce around enough that there is never one tank. There's also practically no way to hold hate for any job at those levels so it won't matter that you're a sucky tank. You'd have to sub warrior to be any kind of tank, but if you're doing that you're already playing the job wrong.

If you're trying past 30 to tank, you're an idiot. White mage is a support job, if you want to be a tank play a tank job. Yes, they can equip weapons, but they can only equip clubs and staves, neither of which does damage worth a damn in exp, nor is their skill level high enough to really warrant using them in exp. White mage is a HEALING JOB. We have the best heals in the game, we're the only job with regen 2/3, cure 5(which is ridiculously low hate), raise 2/3, -na spells, erase, without the depenency of a sub job. I have kicked whm's who refused to be healers before, and I'll definitely boot any whm who tries to tank and not heal.

This entire post is stupid. To any new white mages that come into this game, if you want to tank, you are going to be laughed at very very very severely.

I kicked a WHM/NIN outta my party for switching to that combination after I invited it as a WHM/BLM to be a healer.

Fucker came out to the Lake @ Qufim saying "I hate mage jobs" and brought along a PL. What WHM brings along a power-leveler, ffs? Of course, I found myself a REAL healer (as we already had a tank and two DDs for the PT), and upon me removing him from party for not responding to "will you heal or not?" I get told "I'll remember this you little bitch."

I sincerely hope that this person still remembers it ^^

Not that I don't want to give WHM/NINs their shot @ tanking, but don't bait and switch me when I invite you, yaknow?

An extremely stupid one who probably only wants to take WHM to 37 for some reason and doesn't care about getting it right. I annoyed an xp party or two on my way to 70 by refusing to be the healer when a PL was around.

I did FF1 with a team of 4 WHM.

I think that is the only situation they could tank,

Either way, by all means, go try to tank as a WHM. Just don't try to do it in my parties and ruin my exp because you "refuse" to play your job as it is ment to play. Why do you think our AF says "healer's"?

If you hone stly think a WHM can tank, drag your friends along with your to lose a few thousand exp because you want to experiment. Don't drag the rest of the server with you, because no one else want to try a combination that clearly does not work.

Yeah, well. DRK have elemental magic and elemental spells. Doesn't mean they should take a BLM's role. Just because a THF can use a Thunder Staff doesn't mean they should bring it to exp parties.

WHM's do not tank, they should not tank, and if a party lets them, then get your ass outta that party.

So let me get this straight i am pathetic and i probably have no clue what i am talking about says the 56 pld that is a liar and makes idiotic statements saying that cure V can generate hate.

Anyway I know this has gotten way off topic but I'll just point something out.

WHM/WAR with...

Good club, genbu shield, reverand mail, elusive earrings, breeze rings, optical hat, boxer's mantle, evasion torque, scouter's belt, taru RSE2hands/feet plus evasion merits, jackolatern, blink and stoneskin...

I can tank up to even match very easily. I'm sure I could tank IT at huge MP expense but I'd need to use my PLD's gear not my NIN's. Of course having played real tanks I know the difference but yes WHM has some ability. Way more than my BLM does(for BLM if I need to tank I'll do BLM/NIN but that's far less reliable).
