I think the "younger" White Mages will keep the prices at the current levels. I know that I am not the only one to see that poor WHM that can only do Holla teleports doin' all he/she can to scrap together some more gil... Hell, in my early days, I would teleport-Holla for a stack of earth crystals.... I was so brokaru.....

I think I remember you giving me some teleports like over 6 months ago XD

If a white mage wants to make me pay more than the "standard" costs, then I'd better be getting better service. I don't want to be a part of a "tele-train" and have to wait for you to find 4 other people and wait through 2 or more other teleports before I get mine. I want to give you the money and go. I want you to be friendly. You don't have to discuss the world with me, but at least say something like "Hello!" or "Take care!" at the end.

I know white mages need money, I used to play one. There are much better ways to make money than the tele-taxi routine. If you're going to do it, at least don't be an asshole and think about your "customers". ESPECIALLY if you suddenly decide that we should be paying more.

Agreed. Good point.

WHEN I tele, (which isn't often, I just don't have the time), I always say "hello, nice to meet you", cast protectra IV and shellra IV on you, make sure you're ready to go, and still forewarn you with "casting spell".

When I get you to your destination, I bow to you, wave goodbye and say thank you.

if the prices of Teles goes up that high, I'll just airship and chocobo to where I need to get. Sorry, but I'm not paying more than 500g for a Mea, Dem, or Holla.

Thats funny, because your airship + chocobo +time is going to cost you even more sometimes.

Well ya know, its just a game :p I play it because I've got the time to spend ;)

And usually chocobo doesn't cost 1k unless you're at a crag on the weekends lol

Oh and airships are always 200.

When I do the teles, I don't wait. As soon as the party is formed and you say "Ready," we're off. I always say hello and then wish them well when we arrive. I never thought about doing buffs when I drop them off, but I think I'll start doing that from now on.

I do it before I take them to their destination. Then I cast the tele. Oh yeah, I also try to look at their level also. Like if they're a replacement in Altepa, I'll cast their first sneak on 'em when we get there, cuz there's usually an antican sitting there waiting to eat them^^.

It's just little things I do to help out my fellow players is all. It's up to you other whm's if y'all decide to do them or not.

Casting protect/shell on your teleport is something I used to see all the time and it was very nice, gald to see not everone has stopped doing it. And sneaking the poor guy you altepa'd just saved him 600g on a sneak pot, (or whatever they cost now). Things like that make people glad to toss in some extra for a tele, or just remember you as a nice person.

Oh yeah those whm's who invite 5 people to train to different ports are lame :( I didnt hand over my gils so you could shout 2 more times before porting.

1k to 2k to those who are rich and 500gil to those who are poor and free to those who are broke hehe. :D I remember trading a stack of applie pies for teleport altep lol.

look, as is said, if you don't wanna pay that much, well, that's too fugging bad, walk... take the 2k chocobo out of lower jeuno and spend half an hour getting to dem... whm can charge whetever the heck they like... How else can a whm make real gil? other jobs can go out and solo, they can go out and farm effectively and easily, whm has no such option, they have no spells of mass destruction, no powerful weapons that kill mobs in a hit... they exist to help other people... look at it this way... you go out and kill a cockatrice, get meat... look, we have an equivalent... the whm needs another 10 levels to solo that cockatrice, 25 or so to do it as fast... let them get their gil where they want... trying to undercut them is cruel and more to the point, it's selfish...

You handed your gil to get a teleport, not for a fast teleport. I hate when people complain like that..

I only go whm/blm JUST for making money, it's a fast, easy, efortless way to make a decent amount of gil fast. I just started do /sh recently so anyone who needs a tele will just /tell me instead of /sh and maybe having another whm pick them up. If someone is in a hurry, like for a NM like the sheep or something, normally they pay you more for that quickness, or let me know and being the nice guy I am I tele fast. But you see, I'm not doing tele for your pleasure, I'm doing it for money. And I'm sure your 500 gil is worth anything. Think about how else you would have to get to dem, hop on a choco which might be less or more then the tele, of which either way you would take much much longer to get there then from a tele.

I pick up other people if they want to go to the same place or even a different place, because that means more gil for me. If anyone I am teleing doesn't like that.. then you can leave. Economics here again... I pay 0 gil for tele so I don't lose profits from losing you as a "customer". As if 500 gil would make me worship you. You pay for a bus and the bus won't go off directly to your destination because you payed.. it has to drop and pick up other people. I recently started teleing to make some decent gil pretty fast, it's really nice early in the morning with little NA on. The jpn pay 1000-2000 gil on normal tele more often then not to me, I don't ask for prices I take what is offered. The NA mostly give me 500 gil.. but i've taken 200 gil or 1000 gil from them. Either way I make a profit for doing nothing so it's all good.

That's why I think raising prices won't do any good. Anyways, please, you whm go ahead and do it. That way people like me who will accept doing a tele for 500 gil will get much more people as they refuse to pay your 1000 and all flood to the 500 tele.

Also please don't complain about whm not being able to solo. It's a sad excuse. Bard are worse off then you whm.. yet they go out and make gil for their 200 spells somehow. They don't have the tele option either. And at least whm can use decent damage weapons, smn, brd, and blm have to depend on their magic to do crap, and bard's spells don't do that much in the way of soloing. Whm can do nice damage with muals (which are actual combat weapons unlike staffs or daggers... man damn hexastrike) and your massive healing power makes soloing that much easier.

Teleporting is NOT the only or even best way for a whm to earn gil. Hell...there is often so much competition that you spend more time sitting than teleporting. As I stated earlier I usually only do teleports when I'm bored and have only a short period of time to play or when I'm in Jeuno and notice people having to shout multiple times for a teleport. I FINALLY got off my ass and leveled thief to 15 so I can and do farm...not as efficiantly as with say my level 57 blm job...but still. I can farm in Tarongi going thru the mobs pretty quickly just using my club.

I do think it's ridiculous for people to go off on whm for charging though. People get all pissy because "it doesn't cost anything to cast a spell" or whatever. Why not exploit a job ability to your benefit. People always seemed to get pissed off when someone has a perceived advantage or whatever. Damn BLM...they can train mass amounts of mobs and kill them all simultaneously...WHM can teleport...Rangers have widescan. If you want a different ability then pick a different job.

Why don't people start a thread bitching about how you have to pay high level help just to get your damn coffer keys? I am shelling out 100k tonight to get a key for Monastic Cavern. I COULD wait till I'm a higher level..but I have decided that this "SERVICE" is worth it to me. Just like teleporting...it's either worth it to you or it's not. Pay up or shut up.

If a WHM wants to make actual money, there's a few easier ways to do so...
farm Crawlers and/or Scorps in Maze (Earth Crusher = yay in crawler room, if no one else is there)...
Farm Tabars...
...stuff...

Kiere you don't have to pay for keys. I have 3 full sets of AF, and one partial set of AF, and I didn't pay a gil for any of the coffers or quests. Yes, my smn was high level for one of them, rdm AF, but that's it. Waaaay back when I started playing, the highest NA where 60 and the jpn more often then not did shit to help on coffer and stuff. STILL, I got my AF coffer, from temple of ugilapah (sp?) which I know you sam/smn know how frikin hard it is. I also got sam job done, arguably the hardest class to unlock. People who pay for coffers are just desperate or have no friends. Paying for a coffer is not paying for a service. Yes, it's hard finding help, but hey. Anyways tho, it's not wrong to pay for a coffer if you are lazy like me and just want a fast, speedy response and to get it done fast.

Too bad I was broke then so that wasn't an option for me.

I have lots of friends...but we have been doing coffers/BCNM/Genkai/Promy and missions and my friends and ls mates have been stretched thin with their time. My static is anxious to get back to actually xping and I do consider it a SERVICE. Time is valuable in this game...less to some...moreso to others depending on the amount you have available.

Time is always money.. well that's nice... because you have to spend time to make money in this game.

Yes, BCNM are pretty fast and easy money, but that's why you need seals and that's why seals are hard to get a lot of.

I hated coffers... I still do.. but I still think making money is harder then getting my coffer keys. To each his own tho. Anyways good luck on your key.. hope you at least make them work for the cash :P

Considering how many deaths my static has had between all of us while doing coffers especially our whm (i <3 u Jewellee!) it will be well worth it. There are three of us in my static that need this particular coffer.

Gonna say a few random comments on tele-taxi's. Really gonna jump around a lot, so each paragraph is a completely separate topic.

Raising prices? Go ahead. I won't. I'll still charge the same 500 for Holla/Mea/Dem and 1k for Yhoat/Vazhl/Altep (when I get around to learning them). Of course, if more is offered to me, I'll take it, but I'll never insist they pay more than the standard rates.

Shouting my service? I do it, but I don't "spam" it. Think of my shouts as a commercial. I'm advertising a service that I'm providing to the community. Since the price seems to be going up, I think several people will be happy to see that I'm sticking at the same price.

Yeah, sure, it only takes a minute or two for a WHM to cast a spell, so why should they charge for it? It also only takes a few minutes for someone to kill Valkurm Emperor or Mee Deggi, why charge for the drop? When farming, it only takes a minute or two to get one of the item you're hunting for. But it can take more than a minute to find a mob that winds up dropping the item. Similarly, it takes longer than a minute to find a customer for my teleport. And I still have the problem of other players taking people that otherwise I'd teleport.

As for not teleporting the person right away, the -only- time I ever get more than one person to teleport somewhere is if I get multiple /tells or hear multiple /shouts before the first person is ready. As soon as everyone in the party is ready and has paid, I'm off. If you ask me for a tele but aren't ready right away, don't be mad at me if I invite another person or two.

First off..... /clap, couldnt agree more

Secondly, I kinda have to agree with the other guy. At your level, you guys could easily treat these particular key droppers as xp mobs and just go about it as you would a normal xp party. Just my opinion. I suggested this to Dragos as well. However, I will say there are certain keys that I would consider help for (eldieme). That one is just annoying and paying 50k for a decent eq piece is worth it.

Actually theres one spot in eldieme thats really nice for key, I remember Monastic being the worst from my personal experience. The Orcs there are mnk and drg and they HURT. "Orcish dragoon uses Jump. Mistaya takes 700 dmg" O_o;; ow. (thats at 71 mind you)

I like how Blackchaoshero uses "If you dont want to pay that much thats too fuggin bad" in the same paragraph as "they exist to help other people"
