Who is still playing FFXI?

Raesvelg's fulltime job on FFXI has been helping me get caught up. :)
 
So I just came back 2 weeks ago after 4-5 yrs gone, started fresh, & while I don't think I know anyone that still posts on here regularly in person I do remember a lot of you from the old days just by names

I just got to 95 so next step for me is the final limit break & then I wanna get started on abyssea content. I have a small LS where we're all very helpful getting random stuff done...but if anyone sees this & is in a similar position trying to catch up in the game send me a /tell, I wouldnt mind having another LS to drop into with familiar Quetz players

Hey there man, not sure we ever ran into each other, but I was in the same boat, stopped playing quite a few years ago lol. I just recently got the final MATT fight done. I actually have an extra tail, so if you need some assistance in the BC fight, let me know.

Best method I found to work is literally to have a tail or two and zerg the shit out of em. Good equipped two-hour mnk will take him out mostly solo. Do NOT go in there with a pick-up party of 95's and attempt it lol. Trust me! Went through and farmed three tails solo for quite a few hours for tail pieces to have them wasted on a traditional group.

I think you were in my la theine worms party the other day lol. And I may take you up on that, I honestly don't know anything about the fight & just looked up what the tails are for. I'll hit you up in game, I got a friend that needs it too soon and maybe some LS mates so I'm sure I can get a decent group together.
 
I am loving being back and hanging with some good old friends. I hope to see more familiar names come back. There is a ton of new content that I am really loving. I've tried just about every mmo out there and nothing ever has compared to FFXI for me.

Could have been! I spent the entire weekend capping off Blm, Thf, Nin to 99 and Dnc & Whm subs lmao. I'm burnt on worms for now lol. The fights not too bad, but the fewer tails, the more chance at failure. Each tail only lasts from likr 1:30 - 2:00 I think. And even with the tail nerfing his stats, still has a lot of HP (damn Mnks...)

I hear ya man, it's still got a depth to it that others don't have. I will say I miss that really large, friendly communities a bit... It's not as personal as it used to be... Better than others, just not as much as it was.
 
I wonder how many people I used to play with are playing again or still play hmmm... last time I logged in a few years ago there were a few. But ya, I'd play again if it wasn't for catch up and, tbh, I really don't feel like paying to play MMOs anymore. Student loans are too much my focus to pay even like a bit over hundred bucks a year for a game.
