Why did you pick your name? And wth does it mean?

and um.. Shaidalyn I came up with out of.. nothing.. made it for an elven woman in my novel... i THOUGHT I came up with Windaria but it seems it is also an anime..
 
Pompidou is named after a French tourist attraction/shopping center Le Centre Pompidou, which is named after a French WWII hero turned president. Why? I thought there was roleplaying in the game. You'd come to that conclusion if you read the Brady guide before playing the game. I figured I'd roleplay a Pepe le Pew meets Monty Python's Holy Grail sort of French accent. In reality, such roleplay only comes out very sporadically. I'd never get parties if I used annoying RP-speak all the time.

Look at Inonube... or however he spells it.. he uses w's instead of l's or r's .... it's actually adorable... and while at times you wanna strangle him you can't help but smile and be happy that some people are truly enjoying themselves.
 
back freshman year in H.S., first bus trip to school the bus ran over a squirel. and so happens that was the same name i ever got into the internet scene.. made my first yahoo ID 'roadkill60110' (60110 is area code =/ )

it's a kinda tribute to the squriel... in a funny sort of way. been my handle/screename on everything for 8 years now
 
Arylias used to be my mule. Not caring about the name (Since it was a mule after all >.>) I pretty much hit random keys on the keyboard. Arylias sounded good. Ok, mule made.

Then I get my "main" char's THF to 45, then realize I *hate* his face (Bearded male hume, brown hair) So I start messing around on Ary's WAR. So yeah, looking at my sig, that went far. :p

Long story short, Arylias is just a random name. >.>

Same exact story except replace THF with RNG and WAR with RDM.
 
Taurohtar is the elven word for ranger or of the earth more specifically. I just moved the h and t around for flow and bam there's my name. Funny story about the ranger part is that I always intended to be a paladin, though I usually play rangers in other games. Ranger is, currently, my second highest job though. Also, I'm a Taurus, and my char's hair has a horn look to it much like a bull or Tauro.

Raukain is my mule, who's name in elvish means holy demon. I intended him to be a mage to level up, but I couldn't decide between whm and blm, so I went with a name that reflected both. Right now he sits at 18 whm, and only was really leveled to get me a feel for the game again after a 3 month break.
 
I pulled mine at random from the Lord of the Rings index. It's elvish, the name of a mountain (the tallest one with the signal bonfires used to contact Gondor). If I was doing it all over again, I would've gone with something shorter.

god i love that game. and yes that boss was a biotch. i just might go play SF again for about the 100th time

well, Uzor is a name my cousin thought of for me. It was either that or like 10k other names I could think of atm, so eventually I ended up with Uzor XD

I was also thinking about creating a hume female called Obeya, so that ended up as my mule, lol... I also have a Mithra mule called Nemis after my cousin's cat <.<;
 
My mithra is named after a cat girl from Sly 2: Band of Thieves.

My character Gstringdiva came from of course a HBO show, and Maddambooboo came from i have no clue just something husband and our friend Minimage came up with.
 
Contrary to popular belief, and the unlimited amount of random /tell's I've received asking such, Mistra did not come from Everquest. In fact, I didn't even know what Everquest was before playing the game and hearing about Mystra from the game. Apparently Mystra was some sort of goddess of magic in the game and captured many fan's full attention. Something like that.

Anyways, I made about 20 characters before finally deciding on a Mithra. I had an Elvaan named... Rufus on Carbuncle til it was level 14, and I decided I disliked the game. I put it down for about 4-5 months. After a while, a couple of my RL friends jumped servers and begged me to come back and try again, so I decided to make a Mithra monk to start, thinking I would have much more fun this time around. The name Mistra originally came from the rhyme I liked. Mistra the Mithra. And... that's about how that came about, yup. And I was right, I had much more fun the second time around. Funny I originally wanted to be a Dragoon though. lol.

My name is Jennifer, "Jender" is a nickname my stoner friends in college made up...and giggled way too hard over....
 
I got my new name from stealing a concept from one of my buddy's. Take a car company's name and knock of the first letter.

I picked my name because it's my real life name, except "Kiki" alone wasn't available so I had to add something before it. >_<'
 
I got mine from the ffxi random name generator. It has something from the FFVII character Cloud (i loved this game) and a roman name style. Looked cool for me and decided to keep it.

I got it from this really good socom player named, Tecneac.
I just shortened it to Tec because we all know 3 letter names = teh best.
