Why do the Steelers OWN you? Vang?

The Peyton sack was NOT a safety. His knees went down in the field of play. I'll give you the Troy Paluwatever one though. =D

I do agree, thats true, his knees are down. Sad part about that is, the knee doesnt matter. It is where the ball is. The ball would have to be placed on the goal line, which is a safety.
Yes, it was an interception. It was caught. If CBS, ESPN and everyother sports group put there (who ALL wanted the Steelers to loose remember) can call it a catch, why cant the officals. Caught the ball, rolled with it, started to stand, dropped it. If anything, it would be a fumble. Even still, he picked it back up.

I still laugh at the fact that all week we heard that the colts will win, they are better, etc. If you cant see that everyone wants the Steelers to loose, you are really missing something. The colts where blown away and had many chances to win it back. To bad maybe next year.

GO STEELERS!!!!!!!!!!

Edit: See it was a catch:

I can't find any pictures now, but does it matter if his body was still upright as his knees went down? As I remember it he dropped down knees first with the ball still up by his chest, then fell over the goal line. If it was a safety, I'm sure there'd be just as much clamor over it as there has been over the interception and the "phantom flinch" that ended with no penalty being called on either team.

It's irrelevant now though, the Colts are done and out. I might just root for the Steelers now. I like Roethlisberger and Bettis well enough, and no one else seems particularly exciting.

I'm a Giants fan. I think Mannings weren't bred for playoffs.

Yea but unless your name is Peyton Manning, i believe the rule is where the BALL is when your knees go down. The ball was across the goalline. Period. If there was no such thing as a safety, that ball would have been spotted halfway across the line guaranteed. And dont even mention forward progress, because peyton was running for his life backwards, which would not constitute forward progress. Suck it, Colts!

Wrong
and guess what?
Wrong

They only mark the location of the ball IF it's a TD or out of bounds. NOTHING for safety or there's been about 500+ miscalls in the past few years.
Here's an idea for all you armchair QB's/Coaches. If you're so knowledgeable about what's right and what's not.. how come they go out and make more money in a year than you do in 5+?

Please think before you speak.. it might be hard but it's generally a good idea ^^
Plus, forward progress = furthest point, be it knee or the football. tyvm. Sleep tight

1. Because soldiers don't make nearly enough for what they do. 2. It's a known fact that the Steelers will never get a call go their way, even if exactly the same thing happened to the other team 2 plays ago. 3. There is a plane that goes Vertical from the line of the endzone up into space, and if the ball crosses that plane then it is a touchdown. The same is true for a safty. If it was Ben running for his life and fell like that it would of been a safty but that is old news. I need to buy more wings for the superbowl. GO STILLERS. DOUBLE OYE.

Really, thats intresting. Since when does the ball not matter? Cause I am pretty sure that the ball matters much more than the knee. Let me give you an expamle as to why:
Player falls forward after making catch. When was the last time you see a first down over-turned when the knee was behind the line but the ball was over? Never b/c the ball matters, not the knee. (Same idea goes for a run.)
Hmm, if the knee is the only thing that matters there has been lots and lots of 1st downs made that shouldnt have been since the NFL uses the knee instead of the ball.

Now, whats this about being wrong and money issues? Yes, it is true that coaches/players make more money than I do. What does this have to so with not only this topic, but any of this in general?

Forward progress. Since when does this matter BEHIND the line of scrimmage? Runner sure, as far as he can run. But since when does that go for the QB? He never passed the line and the ball, yes the ball not his knee, was spotted BEHIND the line. How about that?

Finally, Think before you speak? What are you talking about? You are the one that thinks he knows what forward progress is and that the KNEE matters in placement. Just the fill you in on the NFL:
KNEE=DOWN
BALL=LINE OF SCRIMMAGE

If I where you, I would at least know what I am talking about before I said something, but to quote you again:
"...it might be hard but it's generally a good idea ^^"

I didnt say a word about "knowing more" than anybody. Everyone has their right to an opinion, and yours is wrong. Youre telling me that if the quarterback drops back in the pocket and gets sacked, theyre gonna re-spot it back at the line of scrimmage? NO.... So he was still moving backwards, clearly into the pocket, feet were in the green part of the grass still, body gets tackled backwards, thats a safety in my book.

What do you do for a living pal that makes you right and all of us wrong. (Please dont say NFL official ^^)

Enlighten me...

Ah my poor, poor Broncos. lol

That team ain't no Elway and Co.

Props to Pitt on the win.

So now that the Colts are out of the playoffs, I can't help but wonder why the dome is so quiet this afternoon. Could it be that Peyton can't pass a ball to save his life? Could it be that Big Ben is more than on top of his game and is a more deserving QB? Or is it the fact that the Colts just suck and now all of you who said that they were going to the superbowl are dunbfounded by what a true football team is. I don't know. GO STEELERS.

Just wanted to say..... the colts played pathetic, horribly pathetic ...... and still only lost by 3. Not saying a whole lot for the steelers, however they did play a nice game sunday.

This one's for all the Pittsburghers *ahem*:

Here's a little tune
For when you're out on the town,
And you an the old lady are just, uh, hangin around.
In a place that ain't here
An you're travelin some
An some foreign jagoff says, uh, "Hey!
Where yinz from?" Say

We're from the Burgh.
Proud of the place where
We come from the Burgh.
Four fer the fingers and one fer the thumb.
Where do yinz come from?
Hun, we're from the Burgh.
Proud of the place we come from.

Now, say you run into some Denver* guy
An he's lookin at you, right, with that Denver eye.
Cause your wearin your colors,
Your Black and your Gold.
Just step right up,
and say it bold. Say

We're from the Burgh.
Proud of the place where
We come from the Burgh.
Four fer the fingers and one fer the thumb.
Where do yinz come from?
Hun, we're from the Burgh.
Proud of the place we come from.

Now, everybody don't
Get to be from here.
See, that's why they make
Iron City beer.
So after we win,
And you know that we will.
Convert your new pal
With a cold one, chilled.

We're from the Burgh.
Proud of the place where
We come from the Burgh.
Four fer the fingers and one fer the thumb.
Where do yinz come from?
Hun, we're from the Burgh.
Proud of the place we come from.

Now, bein from the Burgh
Is a worldwide thing.
You just gotta root
For the team with 5** rings.
So if you get your jollies
From a Joey Porter* sack,
Stand up now,
Throw the head back, and say

We're from the Burgh.
Proud of the place where
We come from the Burgh.
Four fer the fingers and one fer the thumb.
Where do yinz come from?
Hun, we're from the Burgh.
Proud of the place we come from.

We're from the Burgh.
Proud of the place where
We come from the Burgh.
Four fer the fingers and one fer the thumb.
Where do yinz come from?
Hun, we're from the Burgh.
Proud of the place we come from.

We're proud of the place we come from.
