Why FFXI?

I started my MMO days like many others with EverQuest. I quit 2 years ago because things were becoming too easy. What with SOE caving in to pretty much every whine and cry about something after Shadows of Luclin going live.

So I started playing FFXI at day 1 with a friend. Stayed because I liked the challange. Didn't leave for WoW because it's like MMO Lite. Way too easy :/

I like SE games and always enjoy the FF name and It seemed like it was gonna be fun to start this one up with my roomates. Started playing since it came out in NA and formed my LS first week and loved it to death since then.

I would have to say the thing thats kept me from going to other MMORPGs would be the people in my LS. The "original" BHE members Zodiaque, Unphazed, and Parademonium (along with my roomate Nocturnus, he doesn't really count cos I live with him haha) pretty much have kept me goin. Plus since then we have had alot of new people come in and they've all been great. If I didn't have my LS I prolly would have left a few months ago.

This is my first and last (pay) MMORPG I would have to say though. A year ago I went to the gym 6/7 days of the week but stopped cos of my addiction for this game : ) I'm kickin the habit this year and goin back to the gym. But, my love for the game is kinda dyin : (

My main reason for playing FFXI is because it's a Final Fantasy game. Some internet friends started playing at launch, and I thought it looked pretty cool. So I asked for it for Christmas, and I got it. Then all of those friends quit or moved to different servers. I, obviously, ended up staying, and I'm glad I did. Otherwise I wouldn't have met so many cool people.

try playing FF Mystique Quest or whatever ^^ it sucks.. ><

Again, like so many others, I bought it because it was FF. I've never played any other MMORPG, and I pretty much lost it when I saw the first PC other than myself. I stepped out into sarutabaruta, (my first char isn't the one I'm playing now. Old one is now a mule >.>) and BAM. No high overhead third person view, the low camera made the world look enourmous. Then you have to find out that it really is, every freakin' time you have to run through it -.-

I still love this game though, even with the cookie cutter things. Since my main interest isn't really getting to level 75 as fast as possible, trying out different things doesn't really bug me. I've still gotten invites as MNK/RDM and MNK/WHM, though they were spread out more. For a while I tried fighting barefisted. quit that right away, since we were fighting crabs >.> but it was fun anyways.

Yeah, not a very good reason.

My addiction to PSO eventually faded and I set my sights on this game before it came out. Yeah this game gets too damn addicting, its my crack pretty much..
