Why is the PS3 a fail?

Enough of your shit, just give it up. If you had wireless you could have evaluated the effectiveness of it. People can forget they made a post, people don't forget owning a $100 wireless adapter while in the process of discussing the effectiveness of that very same adapter.

You either tried to diss PS3's wireless by saying you didn't have wireless when you did and you hated it.

Or you failed to mention hating wireless and returning it while defending it and stating you had nothing to compare to before your present one anyway.

Two possibilities.

Either way you're a liar.

I don't really care to continue this circular denial loop.

By the way, if six-axis is a gimmick, and I'm not saying if I think it is or isn't...

... but if it is, then that means that its use in motorostorm, using the controller as a steering wheel is a gimmick, as it's the exact same way you'd use the wiimote as a racing wheel. Therefore all racing games on the wii are gimmick.

Assuming you don't want to admit all the racing games on the wii are gimmicks, and the eventual mario-wii-kart will be entirely a gimmick, I believe you disagree that the 6-axis is a gimmick when used properly.

Of course I prefer the stick unless I have an actual racing wheel to use... at least PS3 gives me that choice.

You seem to have a very specific definition of motion. You see, since I was a child, I believed that by stepping one foot in front of the other, I was in fact, engaging in the process of motion. I didn't understand the Newtonian physics behind it, but I understood, I was moving. When I tilted my glass in my hand to drink milk, I understand I was moving the glass. By that definition, thrusting and tilting are motion. If something can sense those motions, then I can define them as motion sensing, even before Nintendo patented them.

It's not my definition. It's just how the piece of hardware works. It doesn't matter if you thinking tilting your glass to drink is motion. They are 2 totally different things, and trying to apply it to your child being is inconsequential. Motion sensing and tilt function are not the same thing.

If that is directed at me, I didn't say it is a gimmick. I said it's not motion sensing. Big difference. I never even stated my opinion on whether I liked it or not. All I said is call it what it is.

You may be having some specific technical specifications for motion sensing, but when I say motion sensing, I just mean that it has sensors that can detect forms of motion. By definition, tilting, thrusting, ext... anything that isn't just pressing buttons, is by definition, "motion." Not saying it's as good as the Wiimote and has the same range by any means, they're different and each have their own advantages.

No was specified at Bajaratt who seems to think that the PS3 raped his mother and killed his father.

Motion sensing is anything that senses motion, so if you call sixaxis a gimmick, then your agreeing to the Wiimote being a gimmick aswell. And besides, what is the Wii without the Wiimote... a Gamecube that can use normal size CD's.

Oh, and since you all love quoting shit with no relevance, here is a quote off Playstation.com, ya know, the people that made it? I will bold the relevant.

Hey, yeah, that ign quote in my post dealing with this situation... that's also on playstation.com. Thanks for playing.

EDIT: Oh, and your argument sounds a whole lot like, "I'm not racist; I just hate black people."

The boldened part seems to be what is widely believed (mistakenly), but is the equivelant of calling a PS2 a PS1 that can play DVD's.

The Wii is more powerful than a gamecube, and can handle backwards compatibility much better than the XB360 or the PS3.

Although it technically is more powerful than a Gamecube, it's only ever so slightly, especially compared to the XBox 360 versus the XBox or the PS3 versus the PS2.

It, as in my post to Skaw since I know you'll need it spelled out, wasn't geared toward dissing anything PS3. It was telling Skaw, I don't agree wireless is better. Can you not fuckin' read? Jesus dude, I'm beginning to think you're gettin' sweet on me (*-_-)//

I've mentioned my displeasure with my 360 adapter and long forgotten I mentioned it, so no. Sue me, gonna try and tell me how you've never forgotten anything that's fine, go ahead. I've now got wireless all the way around, despite havin' a wireless router for a while now, and love it, I changed my mind, I guess you don't ever do that either. If that makes me a liar, fine, sue me again. If one of thousands thinks I'm a liar and that one is a moron on his own, I'm fine with that.

thats somewhat true, but it is quite a bit more powerful than what the gamecube was. I think a jump from the gamecube to xbox+1(lol) would be the best way to describe it.

Im not someone that will put that really old "graphics or gameplay" shenanigans in the loop, but to be honest, I would probably enjoy the Wii's games must more if it had more power. Twilight Princess was just wonderful, and its a GC game, and I kind of wonder what the Zelda Wii exclusive will look like

Technically speaking, the PS3 has twice the BC as Wii, in that it plays PS2 and PS1 games. Also, there are many, many, more games on the PS1/2 than the Wii, as well... new games are actually coming out, like God of War 2, that are worth playing. Furthermore, you don't need to save your PS2 controllers to play PS2 and PS1 games. So I'd have to say I think PS3 has much better BC.

yeah, but thats not the point I was trying to make. Every single GC game will play on the Wii. PS3 and XB360 arent quite like that. They have several games that wont play, and from what I hear, the quality of the PS2 games when played on PS3 are much worse than they are on the PS2.

Im not doing any bashing on the systems at all, just making a point

But he didn't call sixaxis a gimmick lol.

Fuck, not supposed to post on this topic... *hides*

This part is correct but getting fixed
and from what I hear, the quality of the PS2 games when played on PS3 are much worse than they are on the PS2.

This was fixed months ago. It was a resolution problem when playing PS2/PS1 games where the PS3 would resize the resolution lower than the PS2 displayed them. Its been fixed.

A gimmick is some minor thing that you try to make bigger than it really is to give yourself an advantage. With PS3, that's six-axis; it was thrown in at the last minute to have something to compete with the Wiimote's motion sensing. You could lose six-axis and not really hinder the game play of the PS3 in any significant way.

The Wii, on the other hand, was built around motion sensing so it's not a gimmick but the basis of the console. Removing it's motion sensing would be removing THE feature of the console, so that's a bad comparison.

This is rather laughable, it's backwards compatible to it's two previous consoles; while the Wii is compatible with 4 previous Nintendo consoles, along with several consoles that belonged to other companies. Wii has significantly more potential with backwards compatibility; PS3 has more now because if you still have the disc you can play it, but that applies to game cube as well.

The biggest reason there's still so much support for the PS2 from Sony is because the PS3 isn't selling that well. Nintendo and Microsoft cut off their earlier consoles pretty early on because their new system was flying off the shelves; Sony, however, doesn't seem to have that "problem."

You call porting older games and then selling them to you "backwards compatibility?"

I can take my copy of twisted metal 2 and stick it in the CD tray. That's backwards compatible, not selling it to me again.

And on that note... playstation 1 games are sold via download for 5 dollars, their N64 equivalent, 10 dollars... so if you never owned the game in the first place you can buy it at a reasonable price. And I don't need to buy a $25 controller to play them. And my PSP can play them....

And even if your stupid logic did work.... well fuck, what % of original Nintendo games are actually for sale? 1%? Congrats on that.

Oh shit... Mortal Kombat 2 on the PSN store, guess we've got... FULL SEGA BACKWARDS COMPABILITY NOW!!! Only by Nintendo fanboy logic, lulz.

Oh yeah, technically speaking, if Mortal Kombat 2 wasn't a wake up call Baja, games that were made before Playstation can still end up on the PSN. Any game that wasn't developed by Nintendo can...

I mean fuck... I can play Final Fantasy 1-6 on my PS3 just off their PS1 ports. Goldeneye's going to the Xbox live arcade and not touching the Wii's VC.

For the slower members of the class:

No shit the PS3 can play more games now, Nintendo used a completely different media before the game cube, otherwise it would all be backwards compatible from the start. They have to emulate the older games, which takes some time to do a professional job of it and they don't own every company that made games for them, so they're releasing the games over time. The Wii has significantly more potential for backwards compatibility and it'll overtake the PS3 easily enough; for someone who keeps talking about how the PS3 will be the best in the future, you're pretty shortsighted.

Your logic is one sided. Without the motion sensor in the Wii, you can still play those games. For example Zelda, it comes for Wii and GC, what is the diference? Wii has a gimmicky motion sensing device.
