why did Light Crystals double in price recently ?????????

(reminds me of days way back :D)

Anyone care to explain?
 
Demand went up. You're real question should be why demand skyrocketed. On a side note, I have noticed a much greater fluctuation in crystal prices as of late. Watched wind hop between 3k and 5.5k for example.
 
Probably mainly depends on what the "big craft" is. Back when alot of people levelled Leather/BC super-commonly, people usedto farm Shakrami for Scorp Claws/Shells alot, and since two Air Elementals pop in the basement (and tend to have time to even repop before the weather poofs), there was potential to get 4-12 Wind Clusters each time Wind weather showed up....could do same with Earth Crystals but they're somewhat worthless XD

Point is...areas such as that are no longer camped virtually 24/7, and even if it's only something as minor as that, thats 4-12 clusters per weather pop. And weather changes aren't exactly rare in Shakrami. Jeuno AH probably loses a good 30 clusters per day just because people aren't farming there 24/7 anymore, which has driven the prices up to sometimes 5k, whereas in the past it never, ever broke 3k (and at some points dropped as low as 1.5k)

I personally had the idea to get smithing to 14ish then goto Outer Horutoto and make Rusty Daggers into Daggers for skilling Smithing (needs Light Crystal), then Dagger into Spark Dagger for goldsmithing, then NPCing em at a pretty good profit...someone might have gotten an idea similar to that and may just be stockpiling crystals, as opposed to there just being a lack of Lights. Or something..
 
I think demand is the same, supply has been reduced. Hell, there were only 15 stacks of earth crystals up yesterday with a 2k PH.....

I don't know if garderners have moved on or if lowbie levelin is on a decline......
 
Crystals always go up in price (and down in stock) at the new and full moons. Certain crystals are also tied in with what the weather has been like in the most popular farming area. For example, I'm pretty sure there was a New Moon yesterday, and if there was a lack of Aurora weather in Qufim/Delkfutts as well, it's understandable that you'd see a big spike in AH sales.
 
I'm wondering how I'm gonna buy a Scorpion Harness in the future... If it goes over 8mil I'm screwed.
 
its going over 8 mil your screwd. the claws are reaching the 8 mil mark now.

Seriously WTF is going on? Do we not see whats going on? I'm not the ass hole that marks up the price 1 mil because there arn't any on the AH so HAHA fuckers i'ma mark it up. If people would stop being so greedy and thinking hey if i get this much i can get this. WRONG you mark yours up they mark theres up its a endless cycle. then you got people saying WAA this went up that the lower lvls farm for a lil cash. BOWHO were just making it harder on ourselves as a server.
 
Did you noticed Moat Carpx12 has gone up to 10k when it used to be 4 to 5k a set?
 
in response to everything but crystals, the value of gil is not the same as what it used to be. having 10mill is nothing now.
 
Lightning crystals are up to 5k...that's just sick.

Alright, who's going to be the one to tell us where we can farm light elementals? haha

It is an endless cycle.

Noticed this trend too...all we can do now is farm these crystals for ourselves or raise the prices of our items being sold in AH to make up for the extra cost. Which is what's going on here. Nasty chain reaction.. of inflation.

Wonder if SE will do anything about it.. meh probably not.
 
Everything is going up. Sooner or later, everything will go up even more. It happens.
 
Time for everyone to whip out their blm's and raise the supply >.>

so says the guy that has 10mil gil... ive never seen over a mil at once gotten close 950k
 
we all are causing the prices on AH to go up..

recently i sold most of my gear.. (except the jobs i really wanna lvl).. when putting stuff up on auctionhouse i check what the last few sold for.. and check how many are up at that time..

say theres 10 of that item up.. selling for 2k each.. the price will stay pretty steady.. EVERYONE undercuts by a few gil.. because ppl want to sell their stuff.. and NOW.. (the lowest priced item sells first, no matter how much the bidder bids).. anyhow.. 10 items.. 2k each.. its gunna stay probably the same.. maybe go down a little..

50 of that item, at 2k each.. prolly going to go down to about 1k or so.. if not less.. (example: earth crystals used to be like this)

if there are no other items of the thing im trying to sell up on ah.. i usually raise the price say. 5k? depending on its last sale pice.. hey its the last one on ah.. if ppl desire it.. 5k is NOTHING for the last one on ah..

so.. say i am putting an item up, that sold last for 20k.. but mine's the only one going to be on auctionhouse.. so i raise it 5k.. bam.. 25k.. that one sells.. yay i got my 25k right? next person comes in.. decides to sell the same item.. see's the last bid at 25k.. notices there are no items of the thing up on ah.. he raises 5k.. BAM 30k... why should we lower the prices? right? took time and money to get that item.. how valuable is your time? :/
