wierd notepad change

It's not just the .txt file in windower either, it's all of them. Does anyone maybe have any idea why or help to fix it? Just wondering why it all of a sudden shows blue text.
 
That's an indication that the file has a special property, most likely that it's been compressed. Right-click -> Properties, General tab, Advanced button. If "Compress contents to save disk space" is checked, there you go.

ahh, yeah, I compressed earlier yesterday. Thanks for clearing that up. What are the sideffects exactly, if any, and do I have anything to worry about it messing up my windower
 
Windows file compression should have no effect on the windower in terms of general use. The side effect of compressing the files on your machine is a slowdown to file access. Depending on what and how much was compressed, you could see little to no effect, or a huge slowdown. Personally I don't use it, and see no real reason for it. If I need more space, I can go buy one of those (base 10) 1TB drives and not worry about space for the next while.

File compress is Blue Windows excryption(i think its encryption) is green. Been around forever.
