Wii Forecast Channel is now live + Opera news!

[Pupusa]

If anyone woke up today and didn't check their Wii systems, the forecast channel is now active, all it requires is a quick system update, and then selecting your location from a list (or closest city).

It displays up to 5 day forecasts and lets you view the weather all over the world, zooming out to show the whole Earth and letting you move around to various major cities, not bad at all.

Here's a video of it in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VO83JzjW41s

Also, this Friday the Wii Opera browser is being released, it's a trial though. The full version is currently slated for this Spring.

I saw the wii forecast this morning, didn't hear about the opera browser though. Can't wait for all of these features to be complete.

I don't ever look at the weather channel on TV. I typically wake up and decide what to do from there. With this forecast channel though, maybe I'll actually start following the weather. It's weather done fun!

[Kotsu]

My rooms in the basement, but I've wired the internet down there into a 20-port gaming hub and since Wii is frickin' wireless only until January... All of this remains heard for me, but I can't see it ; ;

[Pasquale]

I spent 20 minutes playing with the globe.

Did you know its currently 3 degrees in the South Pole?

[Jagster]

Was -15 on everest earlier today.

[Kotsu]

lmfao. you can pick anywhere on the globe and it'll let you know? That's awesome!

Mostly anywhere. If you and 5 of your friends around you can name it off the top of your heads, you'll probly be able to check it out.

I thought it was pretty cool my suburb was one of the towns I could pick on the Illinois list.

Also, (still on topic) today's Penny Arcade is hilarious.

[Ruffyreborn]

lol I got to pick my town exactly as it was also... Elizabethtown, Kentucky.

Anyway, I had about 10 minutes fun with this before I turned the Wii off again. All I did was spin the globe as fast as I could, lmao....
