thats what they said about xbox. Firmware updates are not as simple as you would like to think ^^ they cant just update a hardwares firmware on a whim from a downloadable update, They brick your drive, they get lawsuits up the ass.
They bricked several peoples on xbox with the fall update which had nothing to do with firmware and theres a hefty lawsuit in play for that already.
Its not in their power to take that law into their own hands is one memorable thing i read quoted from a judge in that case as well, If you paid for it you own it and can do with what you please.
its when you SELL your services and mod a system for someone else or sell pirated software that you get in trouble, Aka the kid who basically created alot of the xbox hacks got caught in a sting selling mod services and is now on his way to hard time, The only thing they can get him on is selling.

its been about a year since the FW hack came out for xbox and they still cannot do anything about it.

And being that the Wii looks to be a softmod, A FW update wouldnt do much of anything lol.

damn, that was pretty quick. The only problem I can see in the future is if games use their own "Friend Code" instead of the Wii System's.

Pokemon Revolution, the only online multiplayer game out (in Japan) requires it's own friend code.

i dont even own a wii yet but at about 4pm est this guy is supposed to release whatever it is, AS usual like any other hack out there everyone is doubting its credability so we shall see.

well it looks like "Nester72" the guy who created this video was a kid lookin for 15 minutes of fame because this is FAKE, the wii bootloader was just a jpeg with text. nothing else at all.
he uploaded the file to this groups ftp server today and its completley fake, it seems Chaos controls group is still the only group with any headway into hacking the wii and they are not far from the real thing.
sry for the let down guys, this kid needs to grow up and find somethin better to do with his time than try n look cool.

lol very funny, i dont do anything to try and look cool, This stuff is my hobby and what i like to do. Apparently it hasnt made me look "cool" because alot of people have hated me and bashed me since i revealed it, like your comment here.
It hasnt made me look cool one bit and i dont care at all. Its what i like to do and im not gonna let people put me down because of what i enjoy doing.
 
So, why do we keep Chasym around if all he talks about is hacking and piracy?
 
Because it's entertaining. But sadly that's what everyone wants these days.
