God I never done that wait for a console a dumb thing to do but fun anyways cold weather and being called loser by ppl who took the time to drive by us and tell us that was quite entertaining to say the least XD. But damn I <3 Nintendo hehe anyways I hope you all had luck getting yours and am intterrested to hear your experiances ^^

Put it back where it belongs until you get out of public D:

There was only about 5 people standing outside when I got to the gamestop where I had pre-ordered. I waited in my car until 11:45 when more people started showing up, so that I wouldn't have to wait a long time. The owner was expecting some violence or something(lolsonyfanboys), because only 2 people were allowed in the store at a time, although there was enough consoles for everyone who ordered one to get a wii.

The only problem was a shortage of memory cards, so I wasn't able to get one. It's not a big deal, since you can save the games to the system's memory anyways, but I'll just have to wait a few days to be able to save to a memory card. Anyways, back to twilight princess.

Edit: setting the wii up with internet took all of 10 minutes, and 90% of that was me looking up my password to get on my wireless and downloading updates. You don't even have to do that if you just want to play asap.

right now surfing the Wii shop channel. Trying to decide what I want from there

Same exact story for me really.

I actually work for EB Games. This is basically the same procedure by company standards for all of our locations. It's not really a violence issue, it is more of it makes the event easier to handle when you dont have people who did not reserve the system trying to get inside and get one.

I preffer this method over most others. I waited in line just like everyone else last night and was 5th in line. I was happy enough to get out within 1 minute of going in and coming out with my system and any games that looked fun, as were our other customers.

I stayed till the end of the event so I could go have an early breakast with the other Managers that worked the event so I was able to see how fast and smooth the event went.

Got my Wii w/ relative quickness. I totally owned the people who were shoving for extra controllers by just asking the cashier if they had any more; I got 3 :-)

My friend and I waited outside a Best Buy for three hours. We ended up getting the 82nd and 83rd vouchers, out of a total 84. It was awwwwwesome.

About to play Trauma Center, and then possibly Red Steel. No one has Zelda, I wish I had pre-ordered it.

I tried to get one from Walmart last night, but a manager stopped a buddy of mine from getting me one.

Either way, I have a question. Is the Wii wireless out of the box, or do you need an adapter?

it is out of box ^^. The USB adapter is if you want to use your PC as a wireless gateway

Yeah, it found my router with no problems. My LED light doesn't come on though since I have the system plugged into a power strip :(.

I went to a Walmart near me with 2 work buddies and we camped from midnight till 7am for ours. We got 11,12th(me), and 13 of 20. The crowd was a cool group of people, no thugs or anything like that. Some gamers, some poeple looking to make a quick buck, and some moms braving the cold for awhile to get their kids a Wii. It was awsome, and I'm now on hour 34 of no sleep, this is sucks yet is so rewarding.

Hmmm, it would seem the light doesn't work even plugged into a wall socket.

I tried plugging it in at a few different spots but it still won't work. Light will flash for a moment then go out, checked my Wiiconnect 24 menu and turned it to bright, but that didn't do anything either. I'm not sure if my system is broken or if the power socket in my house is too weak. Booklet says socket needs to be atleast 120v, is a 2 prong socket below that?

*edit* Hmmm, it seems the light only stays on when you receive a message through Wii connect. Lame.

The Wii Sports that comes packaged with it is awesome. I think I played Boxing and Tennis for over an hour yesterday, before I decided to play the games I paid 50 dollars for.

Yeah, Wii sports is a ton of fun, but I did notice a small problem with golf. The sensor wouldn't match your back swing instantly, so you'd have to raise your controller like you're going to hit and hold it for about a second before the game would catch up. It's the only "problem" that I've encountered and it's more of an minor inconvenience than a bug.

I didnt try the golfing, but a friend of mine said the same thing.

I was all excited to get out of work in two hours and spend the night with Veronica (my Wii), but my boss just informed me that I will be staying an additional five hours. Blargh.

I just got mine in today and I'm at work >_< 4 hours and counting until I can rock my Wii ^_^

Something about this system's name that always makes me giggle... "Wii in hand" just sounds so dirty... what are they gonna name the next system after this, Penis or Wiiwii?
