However.... It costs $700.

Now I want to be the first one to say it: This sucks. Looks like I'll be waiting until after the holidays to order my Wii; since demand is so high they need to jack up the price.

The Nintendo Wii bundle includes the following items:

Nintendo Wii Console (includes 1 remote controller, 1 nunchuck, cables, sensor bar, console stand, and Wii Sports game) Wii Memory SD 1GB Additional Wii Remote Controller 6 Games: Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Trauma Center: Second Opinion
Red Steel
Marvel Ultimate Alliance
Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz
Madden NFL 2007 12 Month Product Replacement Plan Game Informer Gift Subscription

Don't want Madden. Don't want Monkey Balls, don't want the replacement plan, and don't want game informer.

Guess I'll stick with what I have.

those pscking bastards! way to try to rip people off.
i too will be waiting until the post-holiday second shipments.

They're not ripping people off, it's about $700 in merchandise that you're buying; they're just bundling it all together. The only negative about the bundle is that you're not really saving anything, so unless you want just about everything on that list, it's not worth getting. There is no price jacking or over charging, it's about the same price as if you bought all of those individually.

Might actually want to check the contents before you bitch about the price and claim that it's a price jack.

I h8 Bundle!

As much as you hate it, many others do not, and it's probably the most effective means of getting new merchandise out there. Nintendo like the rest of them, has to compete with other game companies, and bundling is a smart way to advertise all their wares.

However, many others do not want to spend seven hundred dollars all at one time just yet on this. This is and will be aimed at those that are star-struck by the new console, or hardcore nintendo fans. You won't see casual game-players shelling out the money for these things. I'm in that category. I JUST bought a PS2 like.. three days ago. You won't see me purchasing any of these new consoles, lol. I just don't play games enough.

I want a Wii, but if I was going to spend 700 dollars anyways, I'd buy a ps3.

Been camping gamestop.com for a month or so for this bundle, I'm really disappointed with them this time, guess I won't be getting a Wii until after the new year. *cough*assclowns*cough*

I guess EB/Gamestop figured "Hey, people'll pay $600 for a PS3. Since the Wii is obviously more popular, we can bleed out more!"

Make a bundle minus all the games (except Zelda), mag subscription, and the replacement plan and I'd be all over it. :p

ya.. if they made 4M units.. why in the world would you want a pre-order?

So many of you seem to have missed the fact (in spite of it being said plainly more than once) that they're not charging $700 for the Goddamned thing all by itself. It's a bundle, including 6 entire games, an extra controller, and some other accessories. It's actually about $700 in overall Wii "stuff."

I mean, Jesus Christ ... the thread itself starting to turn towards a conversation about the video game market's trend to sell things in 'bundles,' with plenty of discussion about the extra crap that was included that drove the price on this particular deal up, and also the fact that you would still be able to buy a Wii individually. Yet, the "z0mgz $700 for a Wii?!?!?" crap keeps rolling in all the same, because people don't read beyond a rapid skim of the first two posts. -_-

At any rate, if you click on that link now, you'll see that they're already sold out of that bundle. Lots of eager people out there.

$700 with absolutely no money saved. Thats the problem, Winklewil.

Bundles are supposed to be about moving merchandise faster at a slight hit to profits. But instead, they decided to throw in a bunch of stuff no one would normally buy(1 year replacement plan,) and some items no one would want in the first place(lol GI subscription.)

The thing is, even if they didn't bundle, people would buy the Wiis. As well as the extra controller, and a good portion of the games in the "bundle." They held consoles over specifically to pull this stunt as well. Normal Pre-orders have stopped for quite a bit of time already.

Game shops do this every year not just with the new systems but with the older systems. Go check out an FYI and try to buy a Nintendo DS or a PS2. They'll make you buy 2 games and some accessories for it since the actual shop isn't getting a whole lot of items. Besides, If I DID have $700 I'd get a Wii. I'd love to have most of those games, though I'd substitute Madden for Dragon Ball and Super Monkey Ball for like... Farcry. But still, after the holidays, or even closer to the holidays; it should be available at a lower price. The damned system isn't even out yet and Nintendo doesn't have a lot of say to how each individual company sells their product. Besides, people shouldn't complain about the 1-year replacement plan. It helps when you get a new system. (I.E. the Nintendo DS when the initial shipment stock was 40% defective.)

Oh yeah... I love this one.

I hope you have over $1000 burning a hole into your pocket, fool. ^_^ The actual PS3 isn't that much, but jack on all those expensive games and periphials and you'll be out quite a bit of money. If a Wii bundle with a crap load of stuff costs just a bit more than the PS3 on it's own and you think you're gonna save money?

Well, I suppose the PS3 will do what it's designed to do: play games from the previous system. But we're not here to start a Sony/Nintendo argument are we?

Calling someone a fool isn't trying to not start an argument is it?

Because that's 4M worldwide by the end of 2006. Not 4M North America only.
