no just use FFXI windowed mode. most of the patches make that cheating thing obsolete anyway.....

You REALLY must want people to hate you... How is Windower a "cheating thing?"

Ishitar, what problems are you having? I'm running Windows 7 and have no issues (except for the occasional crash on exit).

Do you have your Windower files in the same directory as your FFXI? If so, move the Windower files to their own folder (ie. C:\Program Files\Windower).

Other than that, we'll need to know what errors (if any) you are getting.

First off, Make sure you have Windower 3.41 downloaded. When you attempt to run Windower on W7, you need to right click on the "Launcher" Icon and choose "run as administrator". The problem I was having occured here. if you get a pop up that says "Allow this program blah blah blah", you need to go into your PC settings (Should be a link to it right on that popup) and disable those popups. These popups from the security settings were booting me out of ffxi every time I tried to dualbox with 2 windowers.
I'm going to go ahead and guess that it' might be crashing on you once it attempts to go fullscreen. You can fix this by adjusting the windower resolution if you open the launcher.txt file. This was also a problem I encountered. Hope this helps!

I had a problem like this last time I installed Windower as well. The way it placed the files when it downloaded them was really ass-backwards and I had to move some things around to get it working right. I don't remember the specifics, sadly, but I do recall having a similar issue.

:o Really? *Double Checks what he's using* Huh, i'm running 3.41 with no issues though..

the illegal one, it could be because for pol.boot it asks the security question which happens when i run it with or without windower

edit: and they arent in the same folder, funny thing about windows vista and 7 i cant seem to find my files for ffxi...and its just that program lol

how do you change the run as admin thing though, sorry i'm reteaded(yes, kay's word) at this

Double click on launcher and the popup will show, and there is a link to the control panel or whatever on that popup, and you can manually change the settings so those popups don't popup anymore... I think.. At least thats what I did.

Edit: You can also follow this path:

Control Panel -> User Accounts and Family Safety -> User Accounts -> Change the User Account Control Settings: And from here you can move that bar all the way to the bottom and hit save. You shouldn't get popups any more when you open windower.
If you disable the popups, you won't need to right click -> run as admin on the launcher icon

Right-click the program icon, select 'Properties', and then click the box that says something to the effect of 'Run as Administrator'.

After that, you should be able to double-click the icon or any shortcut to it, and go to town. If you don't have UAC disabled, you'll likely have to click through it to allow Windower to run each time.

If you don't run it as an admin, it won't inject the necessary .dll's, and it'll load plain ol' vanilla FFXI.

Do you have a 64-bit OS? If so, the default install folder is C:\Program Files (x86)\PlayOnline\Square Enix\Final Fantasy XI\, if you haven't looked there.

i know you change one value to one, always have to change it everytime i get windower setup

thanks

k last question since windower is up

someone know a good parser thats pet and blu friendly?

thanks

Only working parser with which I'm familiar is KParser.

Takes a little bit to set it up initially, but it has a lot of options. It's BLU friendly, and I'm pretty certain that it's pet friendly too. I know it picks up the damage from wyverns; I imagine BST pets and avatars will work the same way.

I'm having some issues as well I have done everything in this thread however when I go to run windower its fun up untill the point that I get into the game. None of the plugins are loading, and then it crashes the error is "X Program has stopped working" then freezes.

Anyone else had this issue?

i know in the past with windower you have to stop using the timestamp maybe? but they fixed that in later patches

I think I rememeber this being a problem I encountered... I think I fixed it by deleteing the recast from my plugins folder.

i think the parser you gave me had a bug in it, spend the last hour right now fighting it lol keeps popping kup defender security and the like

i reset the comp to a day where i just dled it and not installed and no pop ups and the like

Huh, that's very strange. You downloaded it from the code.google.com location?

I've never had anything like that happen.

Do you have Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 installed? Also, if you're using an x64 OS, did you install both the x86 version -and- the x64 version?
