Yeah, yeah, I know...

Was trying to see if I could get Windower (3.3) to work on my PC but for some reason FFXI will auto-close if it's the front window. It runs just fine if it opens in the background first, but then if I click on it it instantly closes as well. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

Never heard of anything like that. Hopefully you can get it working, the new windower is sweet.

vista? i think the coder's official response to any vista related questioning was "fuck vista!"

XP. My only guess is that something running in the background is messing it up but even when I have any normal programs closed, it still doesn't work.

You could try reinstalling the windower(if you haven't already) and seeing if that fixes it. Another option would be to go to the windower forums and see if anone else is having this problem and if there's a solution; or at least you could bring it up to the devs if there isn't.

I had this issue too when I returned so I ran the windower lite version. The last week I downloaded windower 3.3 and it works like its supposed to O.o

While we're on the subject, I'm getting my new comp in a few weeks. That will be running Vista, unfortunately(couldn't get the setup I wanted with XP). How does Windower run on Vista?

Somethin with the IR device fucking with how Windower runs

To disable the IR Devices in Vista (for those that have a remote that works with Media Center or your DVD program that came with your new computer)

Go to Control Panel: double-click on Device Manager *

**or a link rating to it is usually hanging around somewhere on the side.

One in Device Manager, find a category that says Human Interface Devices and open it up and disable it and run windower again and it should work!

I had this same problem with my new laptop and that fixes it and make sure that User Account Control is off and Windower is set to run in compatibility with XP Pro SP2

Edit: You quoted my tip that I posted XD.

So, got it all running on Vista. But today I noticed the Windower plugins arent working(distance, HP%, that kind of thing). Any ideas why?

might wanna do a wait 5 in between the plugins loading during the FFXI start up.
