Last night I finnaly go around to installing service pack 2, the only problem is now I can't connect to FFXI. Anyone know how to fix this? or should I just uninstall it?

Thanks for any info.

It enabled the Windows XP Firewall.

Right, anyway to get it to work without turning off the firewall? Cause it's blocking a lot of pop up that used to crash my game.

Thank God for the PS2 in times like these.

Also if you are getting popups while you are not browsing the web, you have some kind of adware on your system. This tool will remove it.

Windows XP Service Pack 2 is now for download on the Windows update site.
If you havent see this before here it is now:
--------
Due to the firewall function of Windows XP Service Pack 2 which was recently released by Microsoft, a dialog may appear when you attempt to use the PlayOnline Viewer or FINAL FANTASY XI. If such a dialog appears, please select "Unblock" and you will be able to continue to play normally. This dialog can also appear after returning to the PlayOnline Viewer (in windowed mode) from FINAL FANTASY XI.

If "Keep Blocking" is selected, you may become unable to connect. By performing the following steps, it is possible to "Unblock" PlayOnline and FINAL FANTASY XI.

1. From the Start menu, select Start -> Control Panel and select "Windows Firewall."
2. Click the "Exceptions" tab to display the application registration screen.
3. If "PlayOnline Viewer" is displayed on the list, check the box next to it. If "PlayOnline Viewer" is not displayed, select "Add Program" and register the POL.EXE file from the folder where you installed PlayOnline.
4. Select "OK" and exit the "Windows Firewall" to complete the process.

Hrm.. I DL'd SP2 a while ago and I don't recall it ever screwing with FFXI. Guess I got lucky then.

Most people left the XP firewall off by default. You may have already had it turned on and configured.
