Windows XP Service Pack 3

[Tymon]

Not really gaming related, but it would help your performance.

Anyway, for all of you die hard XP users, Microsoft released their final service pack for XP last night.

Cumulative reports are about a 10% performance increase from service pack 2.

Windows update has a direct download here:

Thanks Ty. I've been hearing about this off and on for a little while now, so I'm glad its finally out.

As far as this being here, I guess it was just my lucky day, because I only check this section once every blue moon. Might be better suited for Off-Topic or GD.

I heard SP3 final version was only going to be nearly a 77 meg file. Guess I'm just silly lol.

Just read a post off of Cnet/Crave that SP3 has been pulled due to some incompatibility with another MS small business app.

Link still works, shouldn't affect you unless you are a business person.

Installed it last night. Thanks for the heads up.

Update: After installing SP3 ffxi is now all kinds of messed up graphically. I am currently checking files to make sure, then I will look for a newer videocard driver.

Update 2: New videocard driver seem to have fixed it.

Im sticking with SP2 since I dont have office. I use way too many programs to risk screwing them all up and getting royally pissed, lol.
