windurst fame 1-2 gone awry

To make a long story short; my attempt to solo Windurst Fame 1-2 as level 8 BLM failed.

Started out well enough, some easy kills here and there, first orb placed, all good, next some DCs coming up, some downtime, second orb placed, all good, next up a DC high def Goblin Weaver, went in with 95HP, 80MP ..., wasn't quite enough, was close though, but a hard hitting Goblin Rush finished me.

I really want Windurst rank 2 bad, so I can buy the Windurstian Ring (humes who start in Windurst get the shaft by not getting the ring at start), but it will just have to wait for a couple more levels.
 
Are you talking about fame or rank? I think you mean rank. hmm.. I don't know the windhurst quests, but I could probably help you out if you need it. I can come as any job in my sig to assist. I'm sure rank 2 doesn't take that long if you have help, so it's no biggie.
 
I do mean rank. I need rank 2 and 2000cp to buy that ring. I completed the 1-1 rank mission, afaik I can buy what's needed for 1-3, just 1-2 needs to be done for real. Was fun to try and solo that during my lunch hour, I am sure in the evening there are plenty of people around to group with (maybe anyway).

It's probably doable at L8, just had a bit of bad luck with that Weaver. Appreciate the offer tho, may get back to you on that.
 
Definately can be done if timing is right

I did this mission at lvl 7 as a BLM. Luckily a lot of people were doing the quest as well as a few people farming. So, a lot of the monsters were all dead. Just a matter of walking around and placing and retrieving the orbs. :D

Got it done, thanks for the offer though. Now I need to raise whatever it is I need to raise to get the Windurst 2-1 mission. I am in no rush really, still checking different aspects of the game, took up cooking and found out that if I am going to do any tradeskilling, then maybe it will be cooking to I can make my own juice and pie, but it's unlikely I will go beyond that.

Still only level 9 BLM, no other jobs done, will maybe level to 10 tonight by myself somewhere.

Any idea how much fame one gets for turning in crystals to the gate guards?
 
I can help with any missions for Windurst that you need to do. I've done up to and including 3-1, so I can help with any of those. Just send me a /tell in-game, and if I'm not busy, I'll come and help. ^^
