Windurst is getting teabagged by some birds.

Looks like I was right in my assumption that they can siege the city directly if they take over the area outside. Windurst Waters fortifications already going down too.

Hopefully they'll make more VT/IT beastmen when La Vaule/Beadeaux/Oztroja are put in, we cannon off them and keep their morale lowish so they stop being "omg ouch" in Campaign Battles, because at the moment the Quadavs and Yagudos are outright insane, while Orcs are pushovers.

And, for the love of god, they need to let Arbiters transport us directly to the dungeon areas. (Eldieme, CN, Garlaige)

Nope. Bastok isn't getting attacked, even though Gustaberg is owned by the Beastmen. The difference? We own Rolanberry. All areas in the Nations fronts have to be controlled by beastmen.

Ah. So that's the answer.

Perhaps the same will be true for the allied armies getting the chance to siege the beastmen lairs directly. Time will tell maybe.

For anyone interested, I have started a Windurst campaign LS for the purposes of offensives agains the Yags...and whomever else leaves an opportunity open. I've had the chance to research a lot of stuff about Campaign, and I've got some great ideas on what we can do to start making some headway. I'd like to run Wednesdays, and possibly some skirmishes other days if people are interested.

Please send me a /tell in game if you'd like to join up. Needless to say, it's sorta Windurst only.

Influence over areas

The forces of Altana and those of the beastmen are relentlessly vying for influence over the areas of Vana’diel. Indeed, the very state of their fortifications and armaments is dependent upon the number of areas under their control. Both sides enjoy the perks of area control in the same manner, with the greater the number of territories resulting in more powerful benefits for the troops. Each area contains certain NPCs who will teleport a player to the stronghold of the army with which they are affiliated, at the cost of a few Allied Notes. In any given week, should the Beastman Confederate gain control over an area neighboring any of the allied nations, the beastmen will not hesitate to sack the city itself.
The way that's worded, I'd think that Bastok is indeed in danger of getting sacked at some point this week.

I thought that was possible since my puppet was surprisingly running around with me while I was exploring bastok!!

I'd think the Yagudos and Quadavs are so much harder since their Prosperity and Morale are capped. Orcs, on the other hand, have it at 0.

Orc have a camp or two that can be merited on. the other beastmen dont.
This results in higher morale among those not being kiled every 30 seconds.

Here's an idea.
Instead of attacking the same mob everyone else attacking, stave off the ones attacking the fortifications.
Oh yeah, yags and orcs are harder. But it's compounded by the fact that people are too fucking stupid to realize that "hay, if I keep them from attacking the fortifications, maybe we won't lose!".
Just because they're harder doesn't mean you can dick around and blame it on their difficulty.

Also, ganging up on weaker mobs such as No'Mho's Elite Guard makes you an idiot. They are soloable. Pull more and kill more. Don't waste time fighting 20 on One.

Theres a spot in Vunkerl Inlet that seems like it'd make a decent merit party on Gigas'. Would atleast drop the morale of the even more overpowered than Quadavs Kindred army.

Kind of on topic, but not... are the strength of the kindred tallied by the moral of the beastmen in the area? Some kindred spellcasters were one shotting a bunch of us in Saruta with -aga spells, but in Ronfaure the max damage was 600ish on the same spells.

I was under the impression the Kindred were a force completely separate from the other beastmen.

The Kindred have their own region in the Northlands. As of right now there's no way to lower their morale or prosperity, unless killing Spriggans in Eldieme counts. Don't think this has been tested yet, but it would be interesting to see. Also, different generals have different strength. Yesterday I saw Shadowhorn for the first time. I'm not sure about how the Kindred are tiered, but there's Shadoweye, Shadowhorn, and Shadowhand. They are not all the same difficulty.

I spent a good part of my night fighting in West Saru with about 24 others while Windurst was also getting attacked. Once they fought off that attack, we got some well-needed back up. Something alot of people don't realize, that unlike besieged, most mobs will stay in their area till you pull, link, or aggro them. Some are even sleepable, bwahaha.

This new battle system has been a great way to level SMN seeing I cant seen to get any parties.

I spent about 4 hours with my new campaign LS fighting off the Yags in Windy, Fort Karugo-Narugo and Saruta. By the time the evening was over, both Saruta and the fort were in the double digits on fortifications. The difficulty in the Yagudo right now is their morale and resources are maxed out.

With the morale being so high, they have a lot of numbers to hit us with. Their resources mean they hit harder. If you look at the Orcs, they're lower on both, that's why Sandy has less trouble. The Quads are getting higher, and that's why Bastok is falling behind.

From what I've seen, playing defensive doesn't help at all. Every hit a beastman makes on the ??? at the tower in Windy Waters brings the city closer to falling. If we get Saruta back, it prevents them from going into the city. The more ground covered, the weaker the Yags get. Of course, this will most likely change drastically when the northlands get into the game officially, but for the time being, it seems like a good theory.

I saw two birds (of the Roc variety) in southern Windurst Waters . They had that sword icon, but they wouldn't attack me, perhaps because I wasn't participating - are those the birds you're talking about? I think their names were Kya and Sko.

Yeah, there is a mithra BST Campaign NPC there that has Gutler and will summon these birds. I was surprised to see them there too at first. XD

The mithra and her birds are allies. The birds he's referring to are yagudo.
