Wings of the Goddess E3 screens

On top of that, the guy who posted even admitted he made it up
Yes, he did now while I was at the movies. Like I said, won't believe it until official info is released.

Yay, now I can keep my hopes up that Mime will be released. Hopefully SE will release some new job info on the last day of E3 today. *crosses fingers for Mime*

This is how the game should've looked from the beginning.
speaking of which, I still remember the first videos of FFXI that Playonline released. They were completely different from how the game looks now, heh. It also had an actually animated bow on your back =(

Is that...wedding march at the beginning of the new video?
And, the orcs at the end kinda made me jump. Is this the "Besieged-like" system they were talking about in the E3 video?

Maybe the whole "past affects the present" deal they're alluding to is if you fail at defending, Present Day version of cities becomes a permanent Dynamis.

"Level 20 makes it to Jeuno"

Newb: Where do I go for my chocobo....
Vanguard Tinkerer hits Newb for 875 points of damage
The Vanguard Tinkerer defeats Newb

I were thinking about that earlier. SE said in the JP interview that monsters could become extinct.

I'm gonna throw a guess and say it'll have a conquest system. So every week, sunday > sunday, present might change depending on how you do in the past. So say, if you conquer an area or something in the past, beastmen will spawn less, or maybe be weaker then usual.

Problem is, I don't see how SE could implement it good. They did say what you do in the past will affect the future. But it couldn't affect it permanently, hence why it'd have to "reset", or at least be temporary. But monsters couldn't become completely extinct either, since that could screw over people lvling lower level jobs.

Either way, it'll be interesting to see how exactly SE plan on making present change depending on what you do in the past.

Is it wrong that it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if that happened?

Probably not, but it would make me a sad panda since I <3 exping on gobs in Valkurm =(

This would kinda suck, but potentially be neat if done differently than I (and Sharpe, it seems) assumes:

- NPCs get replaced by their corresponding Beastmen for each nation (i.e. Windurst becomes a Yagudo stronghold).

All the constant shifting, though, would put a strain on anyone in those areas? I'd see more .oO Downloading Data Oo. than we already do now... lol

My take on the "extinction" is that monsters hunted in the past would vanish from present-day areas. Alternatively, it could be like Taisaijin or Colorful Leshy, where if we leave monsters alone in the past that never appeared in the game before, they will begin to pop in the present zones.

That makes sense actually. Although it'd suck camping it in present for days on end, only to find out someone JUST killed it in past =(

If they put these new creatures in the current areas to become extinct this will be the first time they've put new mob .dats in old zones

Not first :p Wivre in Bhaflau is just one example.

And I don't think that's what he ment. And I'd hate to see an armored lvl 80 orc attack me in Ronfaur when I lvl a new job =/

Wivre is an Aht Urghan mob in an Aht Urghan area. You don't see any expansion mobs outside of expansion areas.

Well, that's true. I thought you just ment new mobs, not expansion mobs in areas outside the expansion :p

It wouldn't be impossible though, since they add the expansion mobs in the ROM folder, and not in the expansion-specific folder.

Opo-Opos are a Zilart mob.

Yet theres an Opo-Opo NPC in Castle Oztroja for BST AF.

Well, come to think of it, Bullgards are CoP mobs, but there's Bullgard in ToAU. Mantrap are CoP mobs, but exist in ToAU. Clusters are CoP mobs, but exist in ToAU :P

Although that's old mobs in new areas, not new mobs on old areas =(

Not really a mob, but you -can- summon a diremite familiar in pre-CoP zones.
