"Wings of the Goddess" Version Update (Nov. 5)

I GOT IT the dancer will have the ability to bestow Tanking traits on other jobs, like shadows or stone skin evasion and defensive boosts ect. making a tank out of the next best thing - sam drg - drk and on and on and possible the ability to increase another characters enimity.

But if they do this, what's stopping dancer from adding tank boosts to PLD or NIN and making them even more godlike by comparison?

Since when has SE used logic in their job balancing ideas?

Nothing because they are the original tanks

its like brds and cors giving the natural traits of other jobs boosts see, like store tp boost to a sam or haste boost to a mnk or nin, att boost for war or drk and eva boost for thf and nin. and thats just the tip of the ice berg. After dancer is implemented who know the possibilities.

ok ... i saw how galka dance ... its not that bad >_>

An interview confirmed there is only 2 jobs.

As isomiau said... it's probably the same people that will level healer jobs so it won't increase the number of healer at a given time. If you hate healing jobs thats too bad. Personaly I dont get it how one can level every melee job there is around and not change and work on some healer/support -,-. A DD is a DD, it sucks to get parties on all dd jobs, including BLM.

Not everyone wants to be the support or heal role in the pt. They may be similar jobs but they play differently.

what he said. which is why i normally play RDM as a non-healer, only backup.

True, but comparing person A with DRK DRG WAR THF RNG levelled and person B with MNK PLD COR BLM WHM levelled, person B's got a lot more versatility for handling various situations than person A does.

Person A, ultimately, is a damage dealer. They're better at fine-tune tailoring their particular damage dealing job to a situation, but ultimately the situation still has to need *a* damage dealer in the first place. Assuming it does, they're more likely to have the option of being the *ideal* damage dealer for that situation, but if it doesn't, then they're on the sidelines.

Whereas if person B is in a situation that needs a tank, they can be a tank; if they're in a situation that needs a healer, they can be a healer, and so on. They may not be the ideally-suited tank or the ideally-suited healer, but they'd still be much closer to that than if their only options were damage dealers.

Person A may quite understandably hate tanking or healing or support personally, but that doesn't entitle them to whine about there being no tanks or healers or support jobs out there, when they can't bring themselves to be any of those either. :P

I see your point, but conversely I'd argue that if Person A is leveling a DD-job (one incapable of tanking at any rate of efficiency), and there are no tank jobs seeking, then Person A has the right to piss/moan about no tanks.

If I'm seeking on RDM and there are healers, I'll level, do my nuking/enfeebling, and enjoy myself. If there are no (dedicated) healers, I'll piss/moan a little, and ultimately end up either *not* seeking at all or go into dual-healer mode with another rdm or a smn.

I guess perspective is the issue at hand?

My point is that assuming person A thinks it's totally fine to take an attitude of "tanking sucks", then they have no right to complain that apparently everyone else seeking at the time, also has that attitude. Otherwise it'd be hypocrisy.

That doesn't mean that person A *can't* have that attitude. Not everyone enjoys tanking. Not everyone enjoys healing. Hell, not everyone enjoys damage dealing. The point is merely that they don't have the right to fault everyone else seeking at the time for sharing their attitude. :P

{I understand.}

All this stuff is making me really anxious. I just want something new to do in this game. I've literally experienced EVERYTHING it has to offer, even though I don't have proof of most of it, and it's getting boring! Leveling can only be so amusing... Oh, and would any professional dancer like to tell me(us?) what form of dance the Mithra NPC is performing?

Oh did they put in Dancer and Scholar NPCs into the game already like they did for the new jobs of toau?

But, that'd solidify the fact that theres no other jobs xD

you want to see galka dance ? :P

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SweL...they're putting in 20 macro books and not 21.
