It's pretty damn great. For $20 it's an easy buy if you like sci-fi F-Zero type racers. It's great gameplay wise and has a lot of the features a lot of QCDN gamers really care about - so I dunno, should be a no brainer here.

I was thinking about it... I am going to check it out first.

Eh... tracks change but still remains the same to me from other versions. I'll keep it in mind...

Well I never got any PSP wipeouts, I don't like the idea of playing a racing game on handheld. Was the same deal with Gripshift, the PSP had a great version, but I'm gonna wanna play it with a controller on a big screen.

I haven't played a wipeout since wipeout xl. I'll probably end up picking this up, need more ps3 stuff to do now that I have one.

Probably gonna pick this one up as well, I like playing Wipeout from time to time.

Fire please tell me something.. I went to gametrailers and watched the gameplay video. The game looks like a digital blur mess. Is that just their video and they are sabotaging the ps3 again? I understand with such speed some blur would come but there video blur looks like when the digital cable messes up. Let me know if this is how the game looks.

Not sure exactly what video you're talking about so I just went and watched one.

This looks like the game looks, except that the game is 1080P and 60 frames per second. which gives it a nice smoothness. This video is obviously not near the quality of the actual game, but gives a fair impression of what it looks like. The game is pretty, I'm not calling it a visual masterpiece, it supposedly runs on the Motorstorm engine, but reminds me most of Ninja Gaiden 2, in terms of how everything is really smooth, shiny and lacking detail.

That is the video but the quality is terrible... When they add an HD video usually its pretty much HD... This video looks like SD shit. Im just gonna download the game lol.

I don't see how this is worth $20 but Castle Crashers isn't worth $15.

Production values are not comparable. This is a big budget studio game that with enough content would work as a $60 retail release, being given to us at a real deal for what's in it. I've got nothing against Indy devs, it's just that to me, when money is involved, it's a business proposition, and what they're offering me as a product is not the same technical quality as what a lot of other people are trying to sell me. If they're gonna budget it accordingly, I'm interested.

Of course gameplay is more important, but gameplay and value both have to satisfy me for a purchase. It's not cause I dislike the game, it's cause there are about $15,000 worth of electronic entertainment products I want. So I budget accordingly and buy at discount. Don't think of it as a way to spend less but to buy more.

I seem to recall a big shitstorm going on when Braid was put up for $15. People thought it was a great game, but didn't like the idea that XBLA was moving out of $10 for these budget games to $15. The apologizers were saying that it's just because Braid is so god damn good. Seems like a month or two later, talking about $10 as still being the sweet spot is heresy.

Also note: Most of my disc games weren't bought full price. I waited for them to drop price, often under $20.

Too each their own I guess. I wouldn't pay $10 for this.

Well if you don't find the gameplay fun, then at any price it's just a waste of your time. I'm just saying for the value offered in the package, $20 is a great deal.

There are plenty of games out there that are a great value proposition that I am never gonna buy cause I just don't like the game itself.

For the most part, I expect a better deal from downloading than retail. I don't get a case. I have to download it. I can't bring it with me to my friend's house. (unless I gameshare with them), I can't sell it when I'm done with it. They avoid having to print the game to disc, spend basically nothing on advertisement, don't have to deal with retailers, don't eat any losses by overprinting - I expect some of their savings to be passed onto me, especially when digital downloads in general as a medium is competing with pirating - only pirating is usually a lot less of a hassle with the stupid DRM schemes.

This game is indeed definitely worth £11.99, I had so much fun on it =D

The most fun I have had on a wipeout game in years.

btw, does Wipeout HD support custom soundtracks?

Edit: I suppose the words "Do A Barrel Roll!" Would be appropriate for this game as the game has 2 hidden trophies that have stuff to do with barrel rolls XD

Yea there's custom soundtracks. You can use the music files on your PS3 hard drive. Just fiddle with the audio options it's there. The music is pretty well synced for the gameplay, though some of the better Bloc Party songs work pretty well.

Thanks =D
