Mine got pulled yesterday morning...
So my dentist tells me...
"Try to avoid caffeine. No salty or acidic foods, using straws, smoking, or oral sex"

......
Yeah.. :?

Wow....

I honestly don't know how I'd have reacted had my surgeon told me that when I got mine out.

Though they did put me under general anesthesia, and flipped out when I drove to work later in the day.

Why does the inclusion of oral sex in that make me crack up? :lol: :shock:

Only one of my wisdom teeth has grown in... I hope I never have to get them pulled. I avoid the dentist like the plague. :oops:

Haha... that is pretty damn funny.

All my wisdom teeth are coming in, but since I had 4 teeth pulled when I got braces... I'm hoping I won't have to get any pulled now.

Mine all came through naturally.... and it was HELL. Whe I had braces in my early teens, I have a couple of teeth removed to make room for the rest to be rearranged and my wisdom teeth to come through naturally eventually.

Imagine 4 lumps of jagged, not-so sharp enamel being ripped through your soft gums over the space of a couple of months per tooth.

Let's just say, I understand why babies cry so much when teething...

My teeth were really badly impacted and had to be surgically removed. They had to put me under anesthesia for it, because one of the teeth was coming in sideways so they actually had to remove a sliver of my jaw bone to get it out. I only remember snippets of that day cause I was so out of it from the anisthetic. I do remember telling my husband (boyfriend at the time) that I was bored and wanted to go see a movie, to which he replied "Are you nuts? You just had 4 teeth pulled no more than 2 hours ago!" I told him he was probably right and went back to sleep, haha.

But yeah, it was rough. I had to live off jello, pudding, soup and mashed potatoes for almost a week. I remember my first hamburger a week after the surgery tasted like heaven, even though I was still so swollen it took me 30 minutes to eat it, lol.

the sad thing is....he/she probably had to ad "...and oral sex" because some jackass actually tried it after having their teeth yanked out - then wondered why it hurt so badly. :?

I had all my wisdom teeth pulled at once - only the left side of my mouth wouldn't take to the novacaine...and they had to yank em anyway. Thank God for Vicodin.

I got only 1 removed, I didn't come back when there were to remove my other one... So... um yeah.

Aside from my upper gums being slightly swore, ( Feels like someone punched you in your cheeks kinda) I wasn't really bad at all.

Best part was having a half bottle of Vicodens left after I completely healed. Mmmmmmmm

I think what he/she was getting at(the surgeon) was the "sucking" part >.>
It would weaken the blood clot and the mouth would start bleeding again..Which would really suck for both parties.

It wouldn't really hurt...Would just be EXTREMELY messy..

No Oral Sex? How will you ever survive? :( I was lucky, my dentist didn't mention that to me. ~.^

So, I'm guessing Klank is going to have to go without for a couple days?

I was pretty lucky when I got mine taken out, all four had straight roots, so they came out quick and clean. I didn't even have any pain the following days after the surgery, especially since I kept my jaw iced down, so I had a full bottle of vicoden for any "pain."

That sucks, and i hate the dentist with a passion as well.

Speaking of bad times at the dentist..

years ago i used to work in a dentists office at the front desk. One of the women I worked with was bulimic and she forced herself to throw up so much the acid from her stomach ate away most of her back teeth. She then had to have bone from her hip implanted into her recessive jaw and have fake teeth planted in. Gross I know but for some reason this just makes the dentist all that more creepy to me :?

Yeh, Klank's really mad ;-;

They pulled all 4 of mine at once. Unfortunately, my anemia made them have semi-difficulty clotting, so they kept bleeding fer like...3h after getting stitched shut, even.. ><;

But I'm still totally creeped out that my dentist told me that...just...wow.. O_o;

I'm scheduled to have all four of my wisdom teeth pulled out next month. I have been blessed with very good teeth as I've never had braces before. Recently, I noticed a few of my teeth starting to shift; and sure enough, my wisdom teeth were coming out crooked.

I prize my teeth and take very good care of them (Brush, floss, wash 3 times a day), so I'm quite looking forward to getting them removed. To the OP.....that must have been.......strange.

/cheers!

Pulled Tomorrow. RIP Teeth.

I am afraid I am gonna wake up during anesthesia (its only gonna be "partial", Whatever that means) and start singing or something, and ill be gargling blood at the same time. *shrug* weird pre-op thoughts.

Don't worry Muttz, it's really not all that bad. I was pretty much out on laughing gas while listening to my Chrono Trigger soundtrack o.o" just kept my eyes closed and focused on the music, and just imaged some little scene, time flew right by (then again, I'm an imaginative person)
