Wolf Whistles: Flattery or Sexist Assholish Vocalized?

No way, I just whip out my wang and start jerkin it right in front of her. Chicks love that, honest.

HOT.

It doesn't exactly offend me if someone wolf calls or whistles at me. I'd appreciate it a hell of a lot more if someone had the cojones to actually speak to me and say, "I think you're sexy," or simply checked me out as I walked by though. Believe it or not, a lot of women appreciate subtlety rather than loud male posturing.

As for the "omg I just rolled out of bed". So? I might be the only male that says this, but women dont need makeup, lipstick, the best outfits or even doing their hair. Id still find you hot in one way or another.

The sooner you learn that, the easier life will be.

I've heard this from a lot of people, and I do agree with it.

But I think a lot of guys need to be reminded that a woman's looks has been something we've been judged on for centuries. I can't speak for all women, but there are days when I think I'm the hottest thing in the world, and then there are days I feel less pleased with myself. I don't want to blame society and the media 100% for making me feel that way, but they do shape the majority of how we feel we need to look. I hate to say it, but I feel that centuries of being told we're either too skinny, too fat, not hour-glassed enough, too pale, too tanned, too tall, too short, etc has made a lot of us collectively worry about how we appear.

No matter how many public announcements, books, articles and other sources of reassurance that women are not supposed to feel down about themselves for not looking like a super model, or fit into size 0 jeans, we are still bombarded by the hypocrisy; women who fit this image are still held in high regard.

Anyways, Genk, I'm glad you'd still find me hot even if I did just roll out of bed.

As for boners, they have never offended me. I understand that they can't be controlled, and in their truest form, they are kind of a natural compliment. Just don't expect me to do anything with it.

Would you whistle at an ugly dude? Not really.

We are men, we are a simple people. Simple pleasures, simple values.

We whistle at good looking women. Too many a time have we whistled at someone, and someone else who is not as attractive, assumed we were whistling at them, and approached.

We learned our lesson a long time ago, to place your whistles in a timely and un-mistakeable manner.

This has been brought to you by Testosterone, 69, and the letter G.

Shyrra: Amen brother. Saved me so many embarassing moments.

Hali: Yeah, its an asshole thing to do, but sometimes you out with your buddies and get 'Pack Courage' (Like liquid courage but with homies, way more guts to say / do shit) and like to tell women they're hot, when normally you would just look and walk by.

This put it best.

If it were up to us we would probably club you with our tree branch and drag you to our cave to be our mate. Since that is now illegal, we need to merely get your attention before you leave our lives forever.

This can be done in many ways including: Yelling, whistling, clapping, cheering, hitting dense objects with our tools, first remark to come to mind(which is usually inappropriate, but always true), flexing, fighting, swearing, lifting, picking on the weakest male around to show superiority, banging on cars, removing our hats, talking loud about our expensive stuff, showing off cash, or anything like the above.

It's primitive, but be honestly think these are legit ways to get you to mate with us.

Do you ever wonder why it takes a long time for construction to be done in down towns? Hot women flaunting their shit all over the place while we're trying to work, yes it's distracting, and makes work take a lot longer when you can't lift your head without having to do one of the aforementioned.

See I tend to mix two of these options. Always first is the "initial remark" (e.g. "I'd pee in her butt", "I'd ram the pine up her poop chute", "I'd fart on her earlobe", etc. etc.) and often times followed by "Talking loud about our expensive stuff." So it goes a little like this:

*hot girl walks by*
"I'd pee in her butt, then let her watch my 62" Plasma complete with home stereo system, and then drive around in my lexus."

It works like a charm. Sometimes I mix it up though, if I have a pansy friend around I like to push them in front of oncoming traffic to demonstrate my excessive masculinity. One time I jumped in front of a speeding bus and punched it right through the right headlight just to make my point, it was awesome. And after I finished bleeding on the ground, I yelled at the girl who, by the time, was about 250 feet away "I'D SUCK A FART OUT OF HER ASS" Good times, good times.

I consider it an insult.

BITCH PLEASE, I KNOW I LOOK GOOD. YOU DONT HAVE TO TELL ME TWICE!

Shyrra... Just wow. You're amazing. LOLOLOLOL

If I'm driving/riding/walking around, and I see a cutie, I'll generally throw a smile/wave/wink/"Hey" in there. Most times it makes them smile, and I think it's because they like the idea that someone thinks they're cute, and has the confidence to make them aware of it. However, I think the whistles and "Daaaaamns" and all that shit is a little overplayed, and is probably more demeaning than a simple smile and a wave.

In a guys head:

Whistle: "Hey, I would like to make sex with you"
Smile: "Hey, You're pretty cute! (I'd still like to make sex with you)"

Who knows, I could be way off though. Everytime I think I understand women, I get a curve ball to the junk.

As your typical red-blooded guy, I must say that when I do it, its ALWAYS meant as a compliment. Personally, I believe that a beautiful woman MUST be complimented on her looks. The problem nowadays is that SOME women take offense even to THAT! I mean, there probably is a reason for them to react that way, but at the same time, I wasn't the one to insult you previously.

All in all Zyn, you must be hot as hell to have attracted so much attention even IF you had just gotten out of bed. (Psst, can i have ur email, myspace, and number?? LOL jk)

Did you mean me? I posted about the out of bed thing, and the OP.

Both Zyn and I are smoking hot anyways

Fucking zexy bitches with Z-names. Gets 'em everytime...

People still wolf whistle to strangers? Jesus Christ, that's lame. The only situation I would do that is if some loud obnoxious broad was flaunting her stuff, and it would only be done satirically.

If I'm genuinely interested in a girl, I just give them the slightest of stares and whether they stare back and for how long they stare back will determine my next plan of attack on the victim.

I guess the reason I started questioning the motives of their whistle was just because it's one of those days where I was not feeling like I looked good. I just showered so my hair was all wet and retarded looking, I was wearing work-around-the-yard clothes. I mean, I was at a distance so it wasn't like they could see I looked like I just rolled out of bed (okay so I did >_> ).

I love wet hair on a girl. Something about that "just got out of the shower" look...

Water makes everything sexier.

I've never done it nor will I ever do it (just under my breath, but that's it! haha)lol Although I probably would do it if they provoked me. XD

I've had girls tell me that it makes them uncomfortable when guys do that to them. So I learned from them not to.

A simple hi , good afternoon, good morning with a smile usually works better.

I don't like girls because I am gay.

But guys do it to be dicks/asses/w/e you want to call them.

Usually it's a group of guys doing it anyway, I doubt a stand alone male will stand there and whistle at you.

You should find it insulting since it literally means,

"Hey guys watch me whistle at this chick, because she poses/walks/crawls/wonders around like a slut, and it's safe to assume she's easy."

*Whistles*

-> Girl looks over, makes a face, etc.

*Guys laugh @ girl and or gives pedosmile.

Sounds familiar?

I don't see how this can be taken as a compliment.

I haven't ever seen any guy do this to a chick I consider ugly. There are certainly better ways to express appreciation for someone's appearance, and maybe the guy really does think the chick is a slut. But generally it seems he at least finds her physically appealing.

Yeah but I see it as degrading, if the 'guy' actually cared about the (feedback) he got back from the girl, he would approach her with a more subtle method.

I don't see it as degrading. I don't see it as empowering, either. Guys who do that are just kinda meh. Sometimes I laugh at them.
