Finally decided on taking up a craft. I was stuck between CC and WW, but I really enjoy WW, so I'm going to take it up. Currently, I'm almost 15, but I was wondering, does anyone know any up-to-date guides on what recipes to use to get to 100? Atm I'm using assorted guides from lolwiki, but I'm positive they're outdated and old, so I was wondering if there was a better one I could use?

Other then that, I'll take any general advice from you crafters out there, other then the obvious "you'll spend gil" lol.

I just started WW myself I got it to 14 last night. I'm using FFXIAH.com for recipes and FFXIClopedia.org for the guides. I think there are 2 and between the 2 they seem decent. Not really sure where you can find an updated one.

The old arrow routes are usually still viable. However, I took WW to 71(and delvld to 60) pre-ammo change.

Best advice, go to the recipe list on a site like Alla and just figure out what you're best options are through market research.

synthing logs-> lumber and making arrows is what i did till around 60

*i logged alot back when i was lvling it...try it out in lufaise meadows, no competition lol

what up KB!
hey I know I dont play and know very little about WW but I do know if you want to get it to 100 your best bet is to choose your own path. Just because someone says this path is the easyiest doesn't absolutely mean its the right path for you. A clear example for me was doing leather...the guides are great to reference but they didn't always suit my needs.

Sometimes the guides will be the fastest way, no always the cheapest. In my case I wanted to level up very cheap, but once I got to 80 (as far as leathercraft goes) I realized the cheap path could take alot longer. So really its up to you in terms of what synths you do, there are many many things to consider... costs, ammount of mats, does the synth require rare items, can you get the synth mats off a npc, etc.

there really is no set path, just research WW on ffxiah and look at your possible synths, do some research. Sometimes there will be a synth you can do but the mats for it can be rare on AH although you might save yourself a few 100k in the end just by doing it. Do whats best for YOU, not what other people say.

Also I know seeing other crafters pop 50mil HQ can be very deceiving but don't make that influence you to level a craft. I know for one that watching what other crafters did and made greatly impacted what I choose to level a craft, and why I even chose leather. I eventually just really started to enjoy it because I knew I could do it, it was my goal. If you do recall though KB, towards the end 70ish I was not playing in endgame(besides dynamis), I was only logging on to craft. Also to finish the goal I sold nearly all my equip to have a good bit of money on hand. I will say, focusing on just crafting made it alot quicker than I ever expected. Although in the end getting 100 was just a other accomplishment, it meant nothing much once I got it. I didn't HQ dusk like I wanted, and it went downhill from there and I eventually just quit. So best of luck and reconsider it before you do it, people dont lie when they say its time consuming and costly. Keep in mind also, other people can make HQing look alot easyier than how it works out for you.

PS: Not to bash but, WW is no money craft imo and CC is over populated with 100s... be smart and join the leather guild. ;)

I've decided that my best bet is gonna be to look at all plausible synths and be the ffxiah whore that I am. As for getting off NPCs, I have 3 mules just for that, and then 2 characters to go anywhere my mules can't on top of that.

I highly doubt I'd ever sell all my gear to craft. I don't even plan on seeing me being an HQ king or something just because I see people getting like 5 HQs in a row. I'm bringing it up as exactly what it's supposed to be, a hobby. This game gets quite boring after a while if you keep doing the same thing over and over again.

Never! :) I appreciate your comments/advice/warnings/bribings, though, Juve. lol. Nice to hear you're still around, prowling the corners of QCDN.

PS: How have you been doing with RL and all? And do you ever go on MSN anymore? I never see you on.

Like most of these guys said, research is key. Leveling Alchemy I have used an assortment of online guides and all that stuff, but I also always check ah.com before I start to see if there are better options available. Generally for skilling up, I'm always looking for the lowest cost per synth, but it has to be an item that is able to be moved, or NPC'd. Synthing 200 Elixir Vitaes doesn't really help me in the long run. I also try to avoid things that don't stack, but I'm not sure if you'll really have that problem in WW as much.

Guides can still be viable, because they're always going to point out the obvious, easy synths (especially pre-60) but once you get to that point, you're more or less on your own. Don't worry though, its far more fun to find my own path than to follow some prehistoric guide anyway.

Good luck bro.

nope not really because everyone I typically talk to has aim. I still play video games, not nearly as much, but I play xbox360 games. I really wish I could login again on my original acc for a few days, but oh well. And right now i'm just pretty busy with school, work, and soccer.
