PS2 vs PC version of FFCI is a HUGE diffrence, the PS2 is a gimped Piece of shit.

Just because I can raise the resolution of a game doesn't make it look that much better. OOT for GC for example :p

Sorry I am no authority on GC....please elaborate

Indeed! SC is teh p0wnz0rz!. i challenge you all to a match!.

i played some of the older warcrafts back in the day but i'm not going near WoW. too much time invested in FFXI to quit :D

I've seen and had minor play time in both EQ2 and WoW... the new "challengers" to FFXI. I found myself prefering FFXI instantly, althought this is probably because I am biased. However, even my friends who played these other games commented on how nice the graphics in FFXI were.

Personally, I have always loved the Final Fantasy games, so this game has infinitely more appeal to me. Thats really the bottom line in my case.

See that's the problem with modern day gamers, it's all about the graphics and not the gameplay. Square enix offers better performace and stability than WoW. I bet WoW will have twice if not three times as much maintences as FFXI. As for all you graphic whores you can all kiss my Duck hunt ass. Hahaha. (God why can't I shoot that fucking dog?!?!?)

If this is in reference to my comment I think you misunderstand me, but I didn't explain myself clearly.

I didn't really have enough time to get a feel for the gameplay in WoW and EQ2 so I am not going to comment on how they compare to FFXI. I was merely commenting how they appear graphic wise.

I am not what you refer to as a "graphic whore", the gameplay is 10 times more important to me that graphics are, they just help. Example: If I was a graphic whore I would not be playing FF Tactics right now... but I am because everyone I know tells me what an amazing game it is. And it's also why I go back and play game like FFVII and the older game because they are so awesome.

P.S. - Duck Hunt rocks!

Well im not playing it for the visuals someone just brought up that FFXI looks alot better but WoW does have the potential with a better video card to look alot better. I only play it now because its more casual play and i dont have as much time as i used too. To accomplish something in FFXI you need at least 2 good hours to do anything... especially for exping.. and even crafting because sometimes the guilds are closed and the AH's are out of the items. FFXI is great though... i just dont have that kind of time anymore.

Well i was just about to quit FFXI and share my loot to everyone i could in Jeuno. (worth 1million) but my friend Highweindt and Lally have shown me to much friendship to leave :) and i just realized WoW sucks and was a waste of my money FFXI forever!!!

WoW isn't really warcraft, it's Diablo 3. You get through the game with one job, then what? If you wanna try another job, you need to start a new character, and start completely over and do a lot of repititive stuff all over again. Job Change is what makes FFXI so enduring.

I've been playing WoW for the past week or so and have gotten to lvl 23 with a human mage. My computer is far from being top of the line so whenever I play either game, my graphics settings are dumbed down to the minimum. But as far as I've been able to tell, wow graphics are actually pretty good. The only knock is the cartoonish avatars.

Wow and FFxi cater to different types of people. Wow is definitely for the casual player who doesn't want to devote their life to playing a video game yet still have a character that is is respectable in ability. FFxi is all about the power gamer who has hours to camp/exp.

I think the aspect of wow that appeals to me is the fact that I don't have to search for a balanced party to get experience at a reasonable rate. In wow everyone talks about how you exp mostly by doing quests, but you need to remember that a lot of the quests require you to kill a certain amount of monsters so its not exactly just running from one npc to another.

Playing ffxi, spending so much time trying to find a party to lvl my thief burned me out. The biggest complaint I have with ffxi is how the various classes aren't balanced because it directly affects how often you can actually play. Also, melee jobs outnumber casting jobs by far creating a larger demand for certain jobs while pushing other jobs to the back of the line.

Sure, people playing wow bitch and complain about how the various classes like paladin are not balanced but it only affects one aspect of the game. Just because I think the pld class in wow is overpowered won't change how I play my mage except maybe I'll avoid pvp (which I don't really care about). In FFXI, or any other mmorpg, the biggest appeal imo is exping to go up in levels so that you can explore, etc. The job issues heavily affect a person's enjoyment and play.

In terms of endgame content, ffxi definitely has more events potentially available while wow provides more flexibility at the lower levels.

Anyway, thats my take on the two games. Wow vs ffxi isnt a coke vs pepsi issue. I can't think of a snazzy analogy, but the two games cater to different groups of people.
