I was in what had to be a record low for parties tonight. Got invited to a party on WHM with Holyfighter (SAM), Bloodsword (THF, Leader), Hillie (BRD), Robilarr (BLU) and Religionthunder (PLD). Ok, bunch of guys I don't know.
So things started to go south all the way back in Whitegate when the BRD said “omg lol”. I was like this can’t be good. She explains that she doesn’t have enough IS to buy a portal pass. I was like what??? So the party leader suggested we head to something off of Nyzul Isle staging point, since that’s easy enough to ride a bird into the ruins. Well only people with the point are the leader and myself.
Plan B, so we all head on over to Azouph Isle for the Imps, meanwhile el gimp-o BRD takes the ship. 25 minutes left for that to arrive and bring her to Nashmau. So we’re hanging at the staging point and I ask if we can kill stuff. PLD is like “I dunno…” Huh??? If we can’t beat the Imps or Jnuns without the BRD we shouldn’t be here. Finally the THF says let’s go and we start wandering aimlessly for a few minutes for a camp.
Well, imagine this, we got aggro. Big shock. So we fight that Imp and win. I’m resting up MP, meanwhile PLD is at like 300 MP and is screaming for viruna so he can rest. Let’s see, full HP, near full MP and already getting 1mp per tick from sanction, why the hell do you want to rest? So I make him stand.
THF pulls another 2 Imps, they go ok. For the 4th Imp we changed camps because we were literally standing on top of someone’s party this whole time. We change locales and get another Imp. This one goes not so well.
Imp does a sleepga and manages to get us all, because I was running around dodging another Imp that popped on us. PLD cures the THF, takes some damage. PLD cures the SAM and takes some more damage. PLD now complains he’s not getting cured and uses invincible. PLD then cures BLU. The BLU, thank goodness, kills the stupid Imp and cures me and finally wakes me up. Ok, point #2 when I should have just walked away.
Party decides to hide again by the staging point after Imp aggro and zoning at the door. Wait for the BRD for another 5 minutes. BRD shows up but the THF has d/c in the meantime. We wait around for the THF for a few minutes, then the new leader gets a RNG. After I asked them not to waste more time standing around, and actually start getting some xp the THF shows up again. So they tell the RNG sorry and get the THF back. We meander over to the old camp (where we were on top of another party) and this time there’s no party there. Finally! Maybe I’ll get xp.
Hahahaha, nope. I keep trying to get this PLD to stand so he can get hit with at least one ballad, but no he insists on getting both melee songs from the BRD. Of course that means he’s not getting very much MP at his 1 per tick and is generally doing a poor job of healing anything and of keeping hate. Well soon it breaks down into the BRD doing double ballad over on me, then giving the melee….random shit. Sometimes minuet/march, sometimes madrigal/ballad sometimes paeon/ballad. It was just crappy all around.
~Interjection: Damn this is long already.
Few mobs later, as I’m busy tanking the Imp (thanks PLD) I get blood aggro on a Jnun. Well nobody vokes or sleeps it and I die. So I raise and rest in a hidey hole while they decide to pull the Jnun and manage to beat it without me.
Ok is this party over? Not by a long shot. Very next pull after I’m unweak is the masterful dance of failure. Starts with the Imp silencing us all. So I echo drop up and *bam!* we all get sleepga’d. I must say on the mob’s part that was an awesome move. Well the PLD doesn’t sleep cause he’s getting hit. Unfortunately, he is silenced and lacks echo drops. Screams of “silena me!” fall on deaf ears and he bites the dust. THF is next up tanking the Imp. He uses echos and can keep shadows up for a short time, then downward spirals and burns PD and starts running away.
The sleep wears finally and I unsilence the other guys and cure up some guys with low HP. THF runs back, we manage to kill the Imp, but a Jnun got dragged. I call for a sleep, the BRD does it, but the SAM and THF and BLU keep whacking away at the Jnun. “Get off the damn mob” I say and only the THF moves. Well he’s cured up some, but still yellow and goes and links another Jnun for us. Yay! BRD uses AoE sleep this time and it catches a fly. Now it’s like, get off the damn mob and fucking run. They don’t, and an Imp links, then soon I’m tanking from all the cure spam. Then another AoE sleep goes off but is broken. Then I ES sleepga and slept them and just booked it for the zone. BRD dies on the way. I die right at the door. THF, BLU and SAM make it.
Ironically the ones fucking up all the sleeps make it. So I raise and tell them they all suck and just leave the party. There’s 75 WHMs standing right next to us, let them clean it up, or not, it’s no longer my concern. 90 minutes in the party and I made 2,000 xp WITH using the empress band. What a waste.
