honestly i understand the whole efficiency thing, but to be honest if you just go along with things you escape alot of the drama. i did it, i hate alot of people in the game, but i let 99% of it go. there are very few that i can't stand, but thats because i'm a very forgiving person. if a party wants to do bats, as a pld i just thought yeah ok whatever and took them on. its not hard to be a good pld. same with nin. infact this whole game is so easy its rediculous, it just takes time and understanding of how jobs work and which jobs don't work. its not the jobs that are hard its the dumbasses that just don't get it. seems to me there are alot of dumbasses around. i read the flameboards and i see many times over more reason to just let go of my addiction of ffxi.
i'm officially deleted/canceled/uninstalled but i still check out these boards on a daily basis, its my only means of talking to friends i left. pld can tank anything, i used to buy into the idea that nin are superior tanks, but to be honest pld are the safe way to go, yes maybe slower but much much more forgiving. if you want to be like the elitist pricks like vang and decidence go for it. but what those people don't understand is that a good pld will chain fast and it will be reliable. so you maybe don't get 6k an hour, but you will never be put in a dangerous situation and you will get 5k an hour with a good pld. problem is most pld just don't understand.
or the party just tends to suck nin dick, or they simply don't understand how to chain well with a pld. those that have partied with me will know what i mean. i remember so many exp parties that i was working constantly to keep the chain alive, rarely would i dip below chain 4-5.
understand what is going on in the party and how people are performing. then react to the party. you need to understand mp management and when to use JA. in my static from 71-75 i rarely would be able to use 2 JA a fight and we chained 5-6 constantly. it became effortless exp grind, we all knew what each other were going to do, and we understood what our roles were. do your homework and understand how to perform your job with other jobs out there. then gain the ability and vision to adapt to your party. you will prove so many wrong about pld being an efficient tank.
