do anything if someone admitted to selling gil? Its against the User Agreement aint it?

Cuz today I was bored in ordelles and 3 of them admitted it  So I was wondering if Im just thinking too much or might GMs actually do something with proof?

a gm once told me that if they aren't entrapped (got me on what that means. i imagine if you're not threatening or harassing them), if they admit they buy/sell gil then they take pretty severe action. and they can read back through logs several days old.

look at that, i even have a screen:

edit: i notice now i cut some of that off on the side... oh well, you get the idea.

I would like to ask a GM if they can check the last log on times. Since most gil sellers are on 24-7 which is humanly impossible after a long time. It sucks taht they cant crack down on them.

Entrapment means "trickery" basically.. It basically means that if they tell you their Gil Selling without you asking them questions that would lead them to admit. Forcing them to admit they sell is entrapment

Which also means that if you outright ask them "Do you sell gil" and they answer yes, the GM won't do a damn thing. I know, this happened to Osse. He played 20 questions with a chinese gilseller and got them to admit it, and immediately called a GM. GM said he couldn't do squat because apparently asking them if they sell gil is "entrapment".

/em curses his 1 year old dictionary!!

Well heres what happened. One of them I talked to for a long time, after a while we didnt talk anymore. Sometime later I asked "hey are you the same gilseller still there?" got a yes to that

The other one, I was asking the first one "Is camping stroper hard?" because of something he said but accidently asked this to another one. So he started saying it was easy and stuff. "So I asked a couple questions and then if he sold gil and he also said yes.

Last one, yeah I just asked him if he sold gil and he just said yeah.

I guess I'll just call a GM and ask him to review my logs and see what he can do =O

._. That seems so.... dumb. Can't take actions if you outright ASK the peson, and they say yeah without fear or secrecy. >_< NOT LOGICAL!!! Its like a murderer saying, "Yeah, I killed him." and the police can't do anything about it cuz he admitted. NO!! THEY BUST THE PERSON AND CHOP OFF HIS HEAD. >_< ARGH!!! *twitches* SOOOOO STUPID!!! If they say its illegal then they should do what they can to enforce it. >_______<

Heres basically what I got from the GM. "If a gilseller says they sell gil, that isn't 'solid proof.' Its only solid proof if they ask you to buy gil." -_-

blah >_> that's bull.. BULL I SAYS!!! *growls*

I supose the best way to understand this would be by made up example:

Bigboy: I sell gil!
SOB: Really? I will take 4M then.
Bigboy: Actually I dont have any gil on me, and I don't really know how to get any.
SOB: Then why did you say you sold gil?
Bigboy: Just messin with ya.
SOB: :?

See what I mean, people lie, and as true as it may seem, the text someone types is not proof of them actually planning to go through with anything. I think this is why GM's cannot react in anyway. Lying is bad, but it is not a bannable offense.

It would be horribly out of line, but someone could just be tring to get a rise out of you by saying pretty much anything, and this is one of those things you are allowed to say, just not follow through with.

>_> If they want to put themselves in that kind of situation, then I say they deserve to get busted for lying about something like that. I know freedom of speech comes into the pictures, but like they say in some places, "Yelling Fire in a Theater is ILLEGAL!" >_> Or if you say, "I HAVE A BOMB" on a plane, where it is known to be BAD and illegal, then its the person's own fault for saying or CLAIMING to say so in the first place..

ya <_< mah love ish right >_> bastard GMs hardly do anything anyways even when people MPK ><

Also the GM told me its hard for them to do anything about the websites because they are in parts of the world where International Copyright Laws dont have power XD Their legal department is trying to work on it...
