Would you all be interested in a QCDN Art Gallery? (update with a Poll)

We have artistic talent here. It seems a lot of recent additions and ideas for the site revolve around involving our users. So we where wondering if the artists would like a
image gallery? No Screenshots - just drawings and original art work. Example? Well something like this:

It could be a weekly or monthly contest.
Weekly: Top winner would have their image added to the gallery and receive a reward of 1-2 months worth of premium membership ( or somthing like that ).

or do a Monthly: Top 3 winners would have their image added to the gallery and "..."

If the gallery supports 'no hotlinking'/'bandwidth robbing' then wethink it might be a fun idea. Since the people who frequent the Fan Works Forums would probably be the ones that would be doing the art work, what do you all think?

Sounds like a great idea, I personally don't draw or what ever but it'd be nice to see some peoples best art work all in one place

I'm out then. A majority of the artwork is not FF related. I personally do not consider sigs to be art. If it were i have a plethora of signatures that i could throw in.

IMO: Start with catagorys, not just topic specific.

Catagorys like:
1.) Sigs
2.) Photo
3.) Drawing
4.) you get what i mean.

I think limiting it to a single topic would be bleh.

As far as just how this would be accomplished - it may end up being done via the QCDN blogs. QCDN used to have a gallery, but it was never used.

Either way - I am thinking for now what would happen is this:

1 sticky topic would host a link and information to the sub-forums placed in this forum. The sub forum would have 2-3 categories.

1. Pure Artwork - Like the example above
2. Hybrid Artwork - Excluding the standard Sig (much like the desktop enviros)
3. Screenshots - Self explanatory

1 victor could be chosen monthly and receive some compensation of sorts. The victorious images would then be placed in either a gallery - and/or a blog for archival purposes. To not dissuade effort - artwork can be entered up to 3x - so if 2 REALLY awesome images are provided... effort on the one that barely lost is not wasted effort.

Those are just the random ideas.

I like Kel's idea with the categories. Kinda gives a broader spectrum for people to show off what they do, from actual drawing to photos to CG work.

I think this is a fun idea. I agree that their should be some categories set up for it. It would be a little unfair to judge someone's just lineart picture to a digital wallpaper with backgrounds. It would be nice to see a monthly theme like the screenshot contests.

Most people are better in catgory x then y.
So have like 2-3 different catagorys.
1.) Photo
2.) Sigs
3.) Graphix ect..

Just like you said most people are better in category x than y. To me traditional vs. digital media differs too much to be in the same category. I guess it would really depend on how many entries they receive.
