wow, Haze just got 4.5d on IGN

What would you expect? Every thing we have ever been shown of this game screams meh, and the demo was bad. I dont expect it to be great. I will play any shooter anyways. I think alot of these games just get over hyped due to the consol war. Some just wanted this game to be great because it was exclusive... Does not always happen... The whole "This dev made this game in the past tho!" that doesnt work either. I am not dissapointed lol.

you have to remember, IGN = fail anyways :D

While this is usually true, they at least gave fairly legit reasons for the scoring of the game.

really the only thing this game had going for it was the 4player co op

Didn't IGN say Resident Evil 0 was going to be on 7 discs? LoL.

I am not going to argue whos review is more reliable then others. I played the demo. It was a pretty bad experience. That being said i am a sucker for shooters and will play it regardless. This will go in the shooter section with games like Jerico, Turok, Blacksite, etc..
I just hope some day people will not hype a game to oblivion... Visually Haze looks late PS2/Xbox era, gameplay was common as can be, there was nothing extra smooth about the controls like some want to make believe... Like most of the games i just mentioned... I am sure Haze will have its own set of fans tho who will defend it till death.

The thing that did hit me about what IGN said is some thing you can not just look away from... One of the major things the game had going, Nectar, felt like a gimic to IGN and a last minute add on... Bad news i would say.

I would normally agree IGN is kinda bleh... But i read the whole review and it seems someone with a brain put it together. Every thing they say in this review seems like a legit problem.

I will probably wait to see how people who buy it I know say it is. I was hyped for Haze, and not cause it's a PS3 exclusive, cause it's Free Radical. To me I see it's like, when a new Pixar movie comes out, I just assume I'm going to like it regardless of any info one way or another. I am not going to favor a game just cause it's PS3 exclusive tho, I make it a point to judge every game on its own merits, period.

When i posted earlier that people were hyped for this because it was PS3 exclusive i almost put an (except for Fire who is in love with FRadical?) I know you love them for past games, timesplitters precisely i think. But at some point you just have to be realistic and know said Dev is not always going to put up quality they have in the past. Its a way of life. People are lazy now a days i guess would be the reasoning. Success keeps most on their heels, too relaxed.

Timesplitters and Goldeneye. Some of the best FPS' in gaming. You are right in saying that they can't keep quality, because keeping something that good just isn't easy. However, such a huge dip in quality is something entirely different.

It got a 2/5 in Metro, so it doesn't surprise me. The game itself doesn't look very good anyway.

Same developers doesn't mean the same team as well.

The only suggestion I can make is to copy what previous games were like, and update them with graphics, extras, better controls, etc. If they have some half decent writers, hell, go for a new story instead of a rehashed one. But the thing is, people are running out of original ideas and to make up for it, they make things look pretty (or try to.)

Honestly, I would love to play a Goldeneye clone on xbox or something, but I know it wont happen because EA blow donkey balls. But I would love to just experience what goldeneye was, but with better controls, graphics, levels and etc. Same with perfect dark and timesplitters. Although timesplitters is still going okay, I cannot say the same for any james bond game, or PD Zero for that matter...

I have heard of a mod for Half Life 2 (I think) that features goldeneye multiplayer maps/modes/weapons/characters... Made me a bit excited, but I have an intel processor and cant play half life 2 on this pc

Typically speaking, I'll blind buy something if its previous makers satisfied me to the point I would say, "this value far exceeds the investment I put in."

Such as Timesplitters 2 and Future Perfect, Goldeneye obviously. The Sony PS2, The Super Nintendo, A book by Orson Scott Card. A final fantasy main canon game.

I don't demand the game lives up to the previous iteration. I just assume that something that ended up being over twice the value to me as what I paid(in money AND time), is it least going to be worth a buy in the future. I didn't know that Haze was going to be the next Goldeneye, just that I assumed the people who did it could at least make a game I'd spend 60 bucks on.

Not saying for sure they haven't, and the game for sure isn't worth buying, just gotta wait for the real gamers, not reviewers. Personally, I kind of liked the demo, so still have some hopes for the game.

Dude... DUDE... I picked up the game because of my foolish love for shooters. This is one of the worst shooters i have played in recent years... That is all^^

Got it tonight, and it sucks. My friend and I played a few hours of the campaign on co-op and it just feels crappy. There really aren't any redeeming qualities so far. The voice acting sucks, the dialog sucks, the fire is embarrassing, blech.
