Wrestling Thread! Wrestlemania XXV...Texas!

It has been officially ruled as a Double Murder Suicide. They aren't looking for suspects from outside the home as the Murder Weapons were found at the scene.

This motherfucker killed his wife and Kid then himself. It makes me kinda sick to think about how all the wrestlers were saying how great he was and how much they respected him...

I'm sure they didn't know all the details of what happened when they taped Raw last night.

I gotta say, if this whole murder-suicide thing pans out, I will be absolutley done with Chris Benoit. He was a great wrestler, and exciting to watch, but none of that seems to matter now.

I don't care if he Crippler Crossfaced the Incredible Hulk into submission, he killed a child, a woman, and himself, and that earns nothing but disgust from me.

Heres the latest which isn't nothing really new from what everyone has already mentioned.

Autopsies will be performed sometime today so nothing is really 100% official about a double murder-sucide but that is what is leading too. I'm sure by the end of today we'll have a more accurate understanding of what happened. Someone told me today that they're still invistigating things and they're not releasing everything. All they can say is that the situation is "bizarre".

If it is 100% true that he killed his family, then I just lost a lot of respect for benoit. I've always respected him during my times watching him. He was one of the greatest technical wrestlers and always knew how to put on a good match. But if it comes down to murder, which is a good chance, than yeah I will be highly dissappointed in him.

I just hope this doesn't give a negative outlook on the other wrestlers from the general public. Its bad enough that they're labled as steroid/drug abusers (which many are). I can see people pointing the blame on this being a drug problem that caused benoit to snap and go on a small killing spree which will affect the other wrestlers too since wrestlers are renowned to having drug issues and doing crazy stuff (like the van eric family). Guess we'll see what goes.

When I heard about this, I was shocked.
I was all geared last night to watch an exciting episode of RAW, and then it turns out Chris Benoit and his family are having a tribute.

With what happened just sounded really screwed up overall.

At first, me and my friend thought what if it was some how connected to his wife and Chris Sullivan? Originally they were married, and then divorced. This was during the times when Chris Benoit's wife was known as Woman during her WCW years. A rage of jealousy sparked? Maybe even current marriage problems? Who knows?

For now its probably too early to jump to conclusions like that though.
After reading up some of the wrestling articles, it seems that they are trying to find out now if its more of a kill/suicide issue.

It would be pretty screwed up if Chris Benoit did it.
I think a lot of us, and also people in WWE would lose a lot of respect for any man or woman that hurts their own family like that.

I guess with tests they'll try to determine it because considering the time differences, the story also sounds like he arrived to his home and they were dead. Perhaps he got depressed, didn't know what to do, and kicked the can himself rather than trying to get help.

We can all probably come to different thoughts on how this occurred, but
the story of the crime can go both ways for now.

Man its just sad this took place. :-(
He was a good wrestler, and a family man.
I guess we'll see how this turns out.

On a side note, I heard that the whole Vince story is getting scrapped.
Talk about bad timing.

This Benoit shit ended Vince's Death/who did it gimmick, which could've lasted the whole year and there goes any hopes of making money outta Benoit in DVDs...

Yeah pretty much has too. One...it would be disrespecting to benoits real death and investigation and two....Vince came back on TV and the story would just be less believable.

But yeah your right, it is bad timing. I wanted to see where this story was going. Wish they would reveal the conclusion of it if it was even written yet. I dunno how far ahead they write their stories.

A lot of his merchandise jumped up in price. Someone I work with who collects figures and keeps up with the latest thats out said that some of his stuff that were worth $14 shot up to $200 just over night.

WWE Shopzone yanked all his merchandise off of their site now. I hope that isn't a bad sign considering they know more about the case than they are allowed to tell the public.

If they knew something that would change the ruling of the deaths it would be made public, so I would say it's still considered a double murder-suicide

All I could guess now is more damning evidence on Chris

Not only that, but his name is off of dvd match descriptions. They're in a hurry to erase him from history.

Oh boy...I bet now the media is gonna have a field day with this one.

If confirmed and convicted that it was Benoit, do you think some places will ban the use of Chris Benoit shirts?

Mainly schools??

A lot of kids are mostly mainstreaming John Cena's merchandise, but I'm sure there are a few that probably liked Chris Benoit aside from us adults. :-)

Overall, I just hope they do not blow the story out of proportion.

I think they were gonna reveal the person "whose DNA was found in the car besides McMahon and the driver" on the 3 hr episode...too bad we're not gonna get to find out about it now.

Btw, earlier this morning there was a Benoit article in all the slots of wwe.com

But now he just has the main one and the rest are back to the normal WWE stories...probably a bad sign.

I guess Benoit won't be going into the Hall of Fame if it was him.

If he did it I really don't want him mentioned on WWE programming ever again.

I'm thinking WWE knew what was going on at the airing of the tribute, that's why some people's interviews were really weird (Chavo's and Regals' for example).

I really think WWE shouldve held off on that tribute...Tribute to a murderer, great.

I can hardly believe this..

Wow you guys are really quick to jump the gun. Nothing is 100% known CNN doesn't know, fox doesn't know, and the autopsy wont tell us if Benoit really did anything. Sure right now we can draw conclusions, but double homicide suicide doesn't mean Benoit did anything. You're jumping on someone who is still innocent until verdict is ruled via the autopsy. Even the autopsy doesn't tell us the whole story.

Stop jumping the gun with this because you're hating on someone that we're not even sure did the crime. The cops are drawing conclusions with out any real reports. The only person that can answer these questions are the coroner who hasn't responded to comments yet.

So what your saying is that he came home to his wife and son murdered and then went to his weight room to hang himself? Great conclusion, I think you should be a cop.

The text messages he sent is what makes this bizarre. Thats why got people suspesious in the first place. Chavo might of been one of the ones that got it which was why his speech might of been a little strange.

There is diffinatly something going on that they're not revealing or can't reveal.

The reason people went to check the home was because they missed a 'Family Crisis Meeting'... those are court ordered I believe. So yeah.. >.>, still sucks it had to come to this though.
