Wrestling Thread! Wrestlemania XXV...Texas!

Unforgiven is this sunday? oh sheeeet yay taker

Er, Stone Cold* lol. Sorry, my inner-hatred of Cena must've made me write that. :P

This one came to me as a shocker. Espically since we just saw him on this week's raw.

The Sandman had been nothing but a model employee for the majority of his WWE run. He's been known to turn up early, suggest ways he can help put other guys over and do everything that is asked of him. This being said it was a shock to see the ECW original fired.

Early sources indicate that The Sandman may have shown up less than 100% to work during a recent international tour.

PWInsider.com also notes that on the plane ride home he might have exchanged words with road agent Ricky Steamboat.

The general Sandman character is also considered to be distasteful with the pending Congressional hearings.

Seems pretty lame that someone so devoted gets fired over a little skirmish. Seems to be the popular thing backstage these days. Get in an argument, you get fired. Course there still isn't enough details yet so I can't be too sure thats what happened but it is mentioned.

Beat ya to it Tyrath lol. Just so you know I'm not in a race with you. Usually I find out something, you already have it posted so I just figured I'd point it out. Don't mind me lol.

I saw that already xD I dont care enough about the sandman to post it =P

Well fine then!! Just messin. Anyways sandman was pretty interesting back in the old days of ECW. Haven't saw much of ECW back then, but my co-worker burned me a CD with some old matches on there with him in it plus he's on Foley's DVD. He was pretty interesting back in the day. He was involved in some interesting story lines. He even had an interesting feud with stone cold back before he was stone cold. He was just Steve Austin with golden blonde hair lol. Too bad he's gone, but they weren't doing much with him anyway so its not a huge blow to the company.

He was awesome when he was crucified by Raven....god old ECW kicked so much ass.

I saw clips of that but I never saw the whole skit. Kurt Angle I think was involved with that. I know he got offended by it.

Vince will never have the cojones to say he stole the whole Stone Cold idea out of Sandman. I'm happy anyways with the fact that that bum austin never beat Bret Heart. Once!

From what I read, Austin said somewhere that he came up with his gimmick on his own. So Austin mighta borrowed ideas from Sandman..

Austin used to be with ECW briefly before he joined the WWF(E) and that's where he started developing the "Stone Cold" persona, so yeah I don't doubt he borrowed some of it from the Sandman.

Did Sandman even win a single match (besides by DQ) since his debut on RAW? He just kept getting disqualified over and over again until this past week when Santino used the Singapore cane, lol. And in some matches you could tell he wasn't 100%, lots of staggering and falling down and such.

The reason he was staggering is because he was probably drunk. ;p The good thing about sandman...he is a true alcoholic! Man I love shoot interviews.

Oh shoot I forgot about it being unforgiving tonight. Should be interesting to see if we'll see a major change or if things will go the usual route.

I'm leaning towards Cena retaining yet again, but we'll see.

Batista won championship.

Orton won by DQ.

I called it, Orton probably is suspended(not long suspensions, can be a week or whatnot) til near No Mercy time from his involvement in the signature pharmacy scandal, since they had Cena and his dad give Orton a taste of his own medicine. Hopefully he can win at No Mercy, but we'll see.

I liked the Triple Threat match. I'm glad Batista won the title.

As for Cena/Orton... Meh, I'm not surprised by the outcome, but it was entertaining.

Unlike Undertaker's match. I fell asleep twice during it.

And is it just me, or are HHH's intros/outros longer than his matches? How many times do we have to watch him stand and flex?

For those that dont know

JBL confirmed tonight on WWE Unforgiven that John Cena will face Randy Orton for the WWE Heavyweight Championship in a last man standing match at No Mercy next month.

Also, looks like Taker might dethrone Batista again

-- It looks like we may see The Undertaker back in the World Heavyweight title picture immediately. Michael Cole and JBL hinted that 'Taker wanted back what was taken from him and The Phenom motioned for the belt around his waist as the PPV went off the air.
