Wrestling Thread! Wrestlemania XXV...Texas!

A fan won the IC championship. Is this a slick introduction for a new wrestler? (They've worked the 'fan comes in ring and becomes famous' angle before) or is it just a clever way to retire the title?

I was also impressed they actually had the fan beat up Umaga (till Vince stepped in) rather than the overdone one-sided slaughterfest they usually do when someone thats not a wrestler gets put in a match.

Guessing vince will just vacat the title and we'll have some fun match for it at backlash.
 
I read something saying that the fan is an actual wrestler and that was his debut ;o
 
- On RAW last night Umaga defended his Intercontinental Championship against a “fan” from the crowd. That person who played the “fan” is a developmental star from Ohio Valley Wrestling, and goes by the name Boris Alexiev, who will be a new character WWE storylines.

While in OVW, Aleviex portrayed a Russian monster heel even though he is actually Italian so WWE came up with the idea of giving him a big debut on the Italian tour.

Yeah I missed that too(bah to school lol). And speaking of russian wrestlers, whatever happened to that "double double E" guy. I can't remember his name. They used to always interview him in the crowd to see which brand he was going to join.

Yeah I dunno what happened to him, guess they didn't like him.
 
Double Double E guy was pretty much put on backwater because after watching a few matches of his...Vince decided he wasn't main event juice. That means 1 of 2 things. 1) He's back in OVW and creating a new personality. Or! 2) He's this italian guy...I have to watch it again to see if it's him.

It wasn't the same guy, no way.
 
Is it just me, or is ECW getting slightly stale...seeing the New Breed and the Originals is getting slightly boring...
 
ECW isn't ECW anymore. I can't watch it. What originally turned me onto ECW was Sabu and his craziness. Vince really ruined ECW.

I feel the same way. Change is needed.
 
I agree w/ the whole ECW thing i was use to watching it back in the days where they where allowed to use weapons and stuff like that. I remember watch ECW for the 1st time one late night i forgot who was wrestling but one of the wrestler went outside and grab and object from a fan it was a Nintendo system and the guy ended up pile driving the guy on it i was like thats awsome lol.

But yea ECW is kind of getting blah makes me thing of the whole WCW invasion w/ WWE when that did that remember lol.

QFT, and I am pretty sure Vince will never bring it back to that type either. :/ I'm guessing he'll use it as a step up from OVW where people can test personalitys out on TV.
 
You are probably right Miros. I would love to see the days when Sabu spent more time in the hospital then in the ring. The guy did it all for the fans. People always talk about how HBK leaves it all in the ring. To a point the guy does put on a show; but Sabu really left everything in the ring.
 
Vince copied the best things ECW had in it's heyday and implemented them on RAW. Ex. Sandman drank beer before Austin spilled it all over himself. Tables Chairs and Ladders Matches and more. D=
 
I watched ECW for a few weeks when WWE started it, then i just stopped...Its lame.
