Wrestling Thread! Wrestlemania XXV...Texas!

Definitely an interesting match. I do wonder what Backlash will be like now. Orton may still be in it though...let's not count him out until we really hear!

Yeah, hopefully Orton's still in it, but he's screwed up before, this may be the straw that breaks the camel's back, idk.
I think he's just too cocky and had a lot handed to him being a Third generation Wrestler, and he needs to get his act together.
He was dishonorably discharged from the Marine Corps. too cause of his attitude, so he's had some problems for a while. I'd love to see him get his act together, he has a lot of potential and needs to grow up or he'll lose it all.

Yeah Randy had everything handed to him. Wonder what his dad thinks of all this. I'm sure Vince is dissappointed considering he's been hyped up as the next "legend" because he's a third generation "orton". But yeah he's been suspended before. Interesting to see what happens this time.

I don't think he'll let him go. Think about it...Lesner was the youngest WWE champion, then he left and Vince was pissed, which is why Orton won his gold so he was the youngest champion in history. Orton has a lot riding on him, and we all know Vince somewhat, he'll think of something.

yeah, if anything they could do what they did to hunter and CM Punk and have him "job" for awhile as "punishment". But if Vince is so bent on making him so great, then I don't see that happening either. I agree though, I can't really see Vince letting him go that easily. But its also doubtful he'll be getting big pushes anytime soon.

Yeah...I was actually hoping Orton would win the fatal four way, but that seems improbable now >.>

Says that he may still make it to backlash. But I agree with tyrath, its doubtful he'll win the belt now. I'm kind of hoping Michaels wins it lol. Guess its the ol school in me. I'd be happy with him or ortan winning really. I'm just getting bumbed out on seeing Cena champ.

Maybe he will win it and that will be his punishment. Because then on RAW he will be forced to defend it against the BROOKLIN BRAWLER and lose...

D=

ps. I hope he wins thou.

Alot of things have happened in my life recently that has freed up alot of my time throughout the week. Reading this thread has inspired me to start watching wrestling again. I haven't really watched it since the days of "The Rock and Sock Connection" so i know i've missed alot. So just a few quick questions.

What times/networks are raw/smackdown on?

Raw still on Monday?

Smackdown still on Thursday?

Who are the two big champions now?

Anything else i should be aware of?

Raw still on Monday? Yes

Smackdown still on Thursday? No it's now on Friday

Who are the two big champions now? Freakin "Boo" Cena on RAW and The Undertaker on Smackdown.

Anything else i should be aware of? Watch Randy Orton closely. ;D

Raw is Mondays on USA at 9-11 EST, Smackdown is Friday nights on the CW(used to be the WB) during 8-10 est.

Raw champion is John Cena(still) and Smackdown is Undertaker(All right!)
Other things.. ECW is owned by WWE now, and pretty shitty. They should change the name.. That's on Tuesday nights 10-11est on Sci-Fi. Bobby Lashley is the current ECW Champion.

Honestly, the ECW championship is a joke. Big Show had it, then Lashley...no one worth any interest really. All it means is that you can go from show to show messing with Vince since HHH got his quatracep torp! :D

The new ECW is a joke, not just the championship.
But Big Show and Lashley are both cool, I just wish Lashley was on a different show(and not just jumping from show to show)

Seriously, the new ECW is bleeh...From what i've read, its the same damn thing every week. New Breed vs ECW originals blah blah blah....booooooooooooring

yeah ECW is always getting mixed around. dunno why thats even a brand. Lashley is on Raw, when ECW first debut on tuesday nights, raw and smackdown guys were always on the main event card.

But yeah makelith, a lot has changed since you last watched it. Edge is now one of the top heels. He was midcarder back in the rock and sock connection days. Cena is the next "rock" though his cutdowns aren't as good. Raw is considered the "A" show and smackdown as the "B" show in terms of ratings and popularity. I personally like smackdown because they focus more on wrestling rather than 10 min backstage cutscences like raw does. There both not too bad though. Theres a lot of new wrestlers that got over well with the fans that your probably not familar with. Wrestlers like Carlito, Chris Masters, Bobby Lashley, Umaga, Shelton Benjamin and a few others. You'll see familar WCW faces like Gregory Helms, Booker T, would say goldberg but he left and others I can't think of atm. Shame you missed Brock Lesners reign. He was pretty good back in the day. That about it for all thats going on right now in today's wrestling along with what others have mentioned.

I semi watched him. He being from Minnesota and all (thats where i am too), it caught my eye once in the paper. The only thing i really remember about him was his finisher (the F5?) and his match vs Hulk Hogan.

Its a shame Cena is the new big guy. I think i remember the first match he was ever in and i didn't care for him one bit. I can't imagine i'll care much for him now.

Also, Edge is a top card? Jeesh, i have been gone a long time. I suppose he and Christian got a divorce and went to seperate shows then?

Christian Cage is the NWA Heavyweight Champion on TNA now, he left WWE a while back, October 31st, 2005, but yea the Edge/Christian team broke back in 2001, and he was a singles competitor for the most part til he left WWE, as Captain Charisma.

Is TNA worth watching at all? This is the first i've seen you guys mention it so far.
