Wrestling Thread! Wrestlemania XXV...Texas!

My website's update today was about Nick's crash. I heard about the crash and only one thing came to mind, despite it probably being in poor taste:

My MSpaint skillz aren't paying any billz, but I thought I got my point across.

Dakota sent this in: I was the fan with the "If Cena Wins We Riot" and I would like to tell you exactly what happened. First of all my name is Dakota, I'm a resident of New Jersey for all of my life and I'm fifteen years old. I'm a huge Randy Orton fan, I have been since I was about Ten. So naturally I had signs against Cena and big letters spelling out ORTON. So after the match my friend and I were not all to happy that Cena retained. After all the hype of a big title change in New Jersey, I was expecting to see Orton win. But after the match after Cena celebrated my friend and I held out our Signs. He took mine back to the ring showed it around and dropped it at the center of the ring as if he was saying I'm right here! As the security stopped the fans from hopping the barriers, bottles and other items flew into the ring. As Cena left, he grabbed my sign, handed it to me and shrugged like he was saying, "Maybe next time, ya never know." With that I now have a lot of respect for John Cena and this is exactly what we said to one another. He said, "there's always next time" and I said "I'm a huge Orton fan and I gotta stick by my favorites ya know" and he said "Yeah I can respect that." During this time I had been holding out my hand and he finally gave me a handshake along with my friend. That is exactly what happened after the cameras went off. I'm proud to say that I got a brief segment with John Cena and I've got a lot of respect for him.

Cena's still a nice guy. Just need a new champion >_>

Interesting read. Yeah I've heard Cena in a few intereviews and he seems like a down to earth, respectable guy. I've never disliked a wrestler of the actual person. Only the character that he/she plays. Unless they do something screwed up like Benoit for example. John Cena would be a cool person to meet in my opinion. But I'm with you and everyone else, I'm just tired of seeing him champion.

I missed the end of Raw this week. Orton kicked Cena's dad in the face?

Yep, he was about to punt Cena, then he stopped, ran over to the barricade, Pulled over Cena's dad and punted him.

I missed that part. I was watching the match up until the first commerical break. Then I changed channels and found something else interesting on and just didn't change it back to wrestling for awhile. When I finally did, it was already over.

-- As of last week, plans were in place for both Randy Orton and Batista to win their respective titles at SummerSlam. The final decision to let John Cena keep his belt was made on Friday. Michael Hayes is the person in charge of suggesting finishes for matches, but Vince didn't like any of the ideas he came up with. Vince thought that a win over Orton would have been the big perfect big win for Cena, so Cena got the nod in the match. Orton will get another title shot at Unforgiven, and there's a very good chance that he'll be getting the title this time around.

keeping my fingers crossed...

Just read this.

Michael Griffin said:
Sky Sports ran an advertisement over here in the UK for Unforgiven saying Mark Henry would face Undertaker (obvious by now) and that Kahli would face Batista in a Punjabi Prison Match (disaster obviously).

That could be interesting.

Just read this.

That could be interesting.

Yeah but they are saying that match is probably canceled since they announced Mysterio will be fighting Khali at Unforgiven.

They sure do love doing those David vs Goliath style matches don't they. Besides, he just came back. Wonder why they would want to squash him already, unless they have mysterio pull off a win.

That might be the plan. I think they wanna remove Khali from championship soon. The whole unstoppable monster champion doesnt set well with the crowd when its Khali.

Glad they're finally smart enough to realize that. I look at the whole Khali being champ as like a test to see if he can really get over with the crowd. It helped Orton out a lot when they gave him the belt for a breef time and even Kane for that matter when he had his 24 hours of glory. I'm assuming that they hoped it would do the same for Khali but all it seemed to do was make the fans even more dissappointed.

Khali needed some going around and slamming everyone he saw on his way attitude to nail it. Like go on the ring and interrupt the programing to say something. That should've helped him become the ultimate heel...

Breaking WWE news I guess...

- At this point, no names have been confirmed to be suspended by WWE. Earlier today, WWE did confirm that 10 unnamed WWE superstars had been suspended. Late this afternoon, The New York Daily News revealed several WWE superstars' names that came up in the Albany, NY DA's investigation into Signature Pharmacy. Here are the names that The NY Daily News revealed:

Randy Orton, Charles Haas, Adam "Edge" Copeland, Robert "Booker" Huffman, Shane Helms, Mike "Simon Dean" Bucci, Anthony "Santino Marella" Carelli, John "Morrison" Hennigan, Darren "William Regal" Matthews, Ken "Kennedy" Anderson and Chavo Guerrero.

- Later this evening, ESPN named more superstars that were clients of Signature Pharmacy. The names ESPN revealed are:

Shoichi Funaki, Dave "Batista" Bautista, Chris "Masters" Mordetsky in addition to Edge, Morrison and Helms who were previously mentioned.

- Around 7PM this evening, The New York Daily News updated its article adding Eddie "Umaga" Fatu to the list of clients for Signature Pharmacy. SI.com also issued a detailed list of WWE superstars receiving shipments of drugs which you can read here on the site.

- So far, the WWE is refusing to list of suspended names but they have confirmed they issued the suspensions based on independent information received by the Albany DA. WWE is the first organization to reprimand its employees in the Signature Pharmacy scandal. Investigators say they expect numerous stars from Major League Baseball and The NFL to emerge soon as well.

It's obvious that this has rocked WWE to the core at a very bad time for the company as they prepare for the Congressional hearings. We will keep you up to date on any breaking information as soon as it becomes available.

Those guys arent confirmed suspended though, they're the ones that took steroids. As it says, some couldve been before the wellness policy.

Just another update...

While not 100% official, the following ten wrestlers listed appear to be the wrestlers most likely to have been suspended by WWE after Sports Illustrated revealed that every single one of them purchased drugs over the Internet through Signature Pharmacy after the institution of the WWE Wellness Policy in February 2006 - a clear violation of the policy. WWE suspended 10 wrestlers today based upon information received in the Signature bust, though not necessarily these wrestlers. Here is SI's list again:

Charlie Haas - Purchased drugs as late as January 2007.

Chavo Guerrero - Purchased drugs as late as May 2006.

Edge - Purchased drugs as late as February 2007.

Funaki - Purchased Somatropin in March 2006.

Gregory Helms - Purchased drugs as late as February 2007.

John Morrison - Purchased five different drugs as late as February 2007 .

Mr. Kennedy - Purchased three drugs between October 2006 and February 2007, including testosterone, which is an anabolic steroid. Kennedy sternly claimed in a recent interview entitled 'WWE Stopped My Steroid Use' that he completely stopped doing steroids as soon as the WWE Wellness Policy was implemented. You can read the interview at this link.

Randy Orton - Purchased drugs as late as February 2007.

Umaga - Purchased Somatropin as late as December 2006.

William Regal - Purchased drugs as late as November 2006.

Of the ten listed, two currently hold WWE Championship belts, two more are involved in a major storyline, four more are active performers, and two are out indefinitely due to injury.

The following five WWE wrestlers were listed as being clients of the Signature Pharmacy as well, but their names didn't turn up on Sports Illustrated's list. It should be noted that Anthony Carelli aka Santino Marella didn't sign a contract with WWE until 2006, and the WWE Wellness Policy was implemented early that year, so it would be wise to assume that the following wrestlers haven't been totally cleared yet in regards to a possible suspension just because their names weren't listed in the Sports Illustrated article:

Batista
Chris Masters
King Booker
Santino Marella
Simon Dean

The following five wrestlers are no longer contracted to WWE. Three are deceased, one was recently released, and Stamboli's WWE status is unclear at the moment.

Brian Adams
Chris Benoit
Eddie Guerrero
Johnny Stamboli
Sylvain Grenier

Man, if orton gets suspended again, there goes his big chance.

And Kennedy too, major story line, might mean a new Mcmahon son... ><
