I remember someone posting a link here, a while ago, to a table showing what attribute modified/influenced what WS and the % of the "modifier".

I've been trying to find it again but have been unsuccesfull. So I'm wondering if anyone still has that link or something similar.

Thanks.

just focus on STR over anything else and you're set

dont read into those 'secondary' modifiers too much, otherwise you're gonna be one of those people wearing AGI gear trying to raise your sidewinder damage and going "why iznt my dmg more uber ?! O_O"

STR first and foremost, then if you have other equipment slots you can sacrifice for gear swaps, you can start moving into the secondary modifiers that you see in that chart

hehe, Reality red my mind.

One of the reason I asked for this, other then general curiosity, was to look a bit more into Heavy Shot. This is still a new WS for me and I'm using it more and more, for light SC.

I understand and agree with the STR > other attributes, but looking at the chart, it seems Marksmanship WS relies more on AGI then STR. Since I always use O. Bow in exp party, Heavy Shot is what I use for WS.

Now, gear wise, I always go for rng. acc., at least till 70, then rng. att. and finally AGI, so if AGI is in fact what I need for Heavy Shot, then I should be ok, no gear swapping or anything. Or should I swap for STR, like earrings for exemple?

Howling Fist 1.50 2.00 3.00 x2 STR_20%, VIT_50%
Does that mean for that WS, you should focus more on VIT?
Dragon Kick 2.00 2.50 3.00 x2 STR_50%, VIT_50%
And in these cases where stats are both equally weighted, would it be more advantageous to use both stats equally or would having more heavily of STR always be better? Or perhaps deciding which stats will boost more in each equipment slot be the best choice? I know having more STR will help each individual hit, but since at end levels most do carry multiple gear sets and WS/SC do a bulk of the damage, it might be better to focus on other stats besides just STR alone.

Ive noticed when using Heavy shot that it is directly proportional to your regular shots. I can consistentaly get the exact WS dmg in a party if i stand the same distance from the mob every time. So if you raise your shot to shot dmg your WS will also increase. Str will raise your Shot to shot dmg most so I try and get as much as possible without getting acc issues.

BTW i hate you i still need my Obow.

No, you need to look at the entire formula, not just what attributes give a tiny boost to the damage.

The way you figure damage is by taking your attack divided by the mob's defense, this caps at 2.4 for melee, 3 for ranged attacks. They use all these calculus terms and figures, I'll just call this Att/Def.

Then you take 3 numbers and add them together to get your damage. One is the damage of your weapon, the second is your STR - mob VIT, the third is the boost from attributes.

STR-VIT is 0 if it's negative, and it caps based on the damage of your weapon. If you are in the range where you have higher STR than the mob's VIT, and are not yet to the cap, then you will see a boost of 1 to your damage for each 1 STR you add. You will normally be in this range for exp.

The attribute boost is figured by taking the percentage, multiplying it by your current amount of that attribute, and then multiplying that by a constant that starts at 1 at level 1, and slowly decreases to .83 at 75. You then round this number down to the nearest whole number. Therefore 50% VIT at 75 will boost your damage figure by about 2 for every 5 VIT at level 75, no matter what.

You then multiply the damage figure by Att/Def and multiply that by the ws damage multiplier, and by number of hits if it is a multi-hit. Adding to your attributes will do less added damage in most cases than adding the same amount of STR, and in the case of most attributes will not give you the same boost to damage while building up TP for the ws.

Where STR is a 50% or higher mod in a WS, it will always always always always be better to boost your STR instead of other stats. STR will be applied twice in the WS:
1. Higher STR means better puncturing of enemy's VIT
2. Higher STR boosts WS dmg directly due to the 50% reliance

Not to mention that adding STR raises attack... so I guess that means it's applied threefold to the WS, to some minimal degree.

Bumping {Please forgive me.}

I was wondering, is there a site that shows what stats modifies what WS?
