If your job is to play a game chances are the proprioters of that game like you being there, obviously this isn't the case.
Odd, I think it is obvious that those who own the game have no problems with RMTs being there. How can you possibly believe otherwise? Because the EULA states that RMT is a big no no? Because in years of running the game two anti-RMT events took place?

Not my call, it's right there in black and white. As far as SE's legal department is concerned it's not acceptable. You wanna talk to them about interpretation.

What you're reffering to is the ineptitude of the dev team to deal with SEs first horribly bumpy ride into uncharted territory as a shield to hide the fact that since they suck at their jobs they must be ok with people taking advantage of them.

That just shows of much SE gives a damn bout keeping this game cheat free.

Nothing anyone says will convince me that stealing from RMT is something to be concerned about. I consider in similar to stealing from the mob, but a whole lot safer.

Sounds like poetic justice to me. Too many dudley do rights here crying about what the right thing is.

Hi RMT, you are right thing. You are cool boy.

Here's the thing. Those are "REAL" players, not RTM. Those guys do not sell gil to pay rent. If they were RTM, Im very sure people would steal from them and others would cheer. You do know why RTM dont really live in sky? It's full of Rare/ex armor that cant be sold for gil.

At one time Gil sellers did go up there, but I rarely see them up there now. If they still do, It's very low profile.

so, RMT aren't "REAL" players? ok, but then that would include gilBUYERS too. which would make, by the opinions of many of the people here, a sh*tload of quetzal's population "justified" targets for MPK, thievery, and any other crap you can do to another character.

Gil buyers make me sick as well. Yet they are still one person at the keyboard. RMT have about 3-5 cycling one god damn character. Note, w/o RMT there cannot be any Buyers.

Also, it's a bit as harder to tell who buyers are. Are they not rag'd on when they are discovered?

well actually a long time ago.
when gilseller companies weren't made yet.
The big companies that sold gil, bought that gil from players themselves.
I knew of people that would fish in rabao with 7 characters like what I would do all day and synth.
We coulda made like 2mil a day.
At that time 2mil was shitload.
that's when things started to rise in price because they bought gil from those players and other "lazy" players would buy it.
but that got nerfed. so the next best thing is too make chars that farm all day. that's when fox-whatever came along and farmed day in and day out.
which is why our economy is so bad now.

so yeah basicly it is their fault our game sucks now.
they can die for all I care.
eventhough they are real people playing, their point in this game is not the same as ours. they have no reputation to care about.
so please don't compare that to the stolen stone thread.
thank you.

Real or Fictional is a matter of interpretation. Let me explain my amusement and the slight comparison. It's obviously clear that most do not appreciate the presense of RMT in this game. My interpretation of what I read on the Ulli ordeal was that a veteran shell did not appreciate having a newer shell in their territory and saw an oppertunity to take back what they felt was theirs. Each could be seen as a negative force.

Does it make either sittuation right? That answer is in the eye of the beholder, obviously. My opinion is irrelavant on both as I am not directly involved-- aside from being a member of the gaming community of Quetzcoatl.

The person trading the cape should've been more careful. The party killing Ulli should've been more careful at not letting it go unclaimed. However, it is a matter of how you look at it. Do we want to play a game where we have to be so conscious of things? Gaming is not always dog eat dog. House rules are not always the same as tourniment rules and vise versa.

Well if you are going to compare stone situation to this one, then you would first have to say that the guys who got stolen from had been MPKing people and been asshats to the general public. Once you feel comfortable making that statement, then the 2 situations can really be seen as similar, until then, you're just blowing smoke.

See, and that is were we actually disagree. I don't believe it's ineptitude, I believe it's unwillingness. If I were SE, would I get rid of RMT? Hell, no! Why should I? Gil sellers pay for accounts, gil buyers pay for accounts they may have canceled long ago if they had to farm for gil themselves, and you pay for accounts, because even with RMT around you still feel that it is worth to spend the $15/month on the game. SE has zero incentive to take actual measures against RMT. They throw an anti-RMT event once a year (this time screwing normal players in the process), and life is good.

how is a gilbuyer or a gilseller a real player? The gilbuyers don't actually do shit in game (even if they work a lot outside the game to make the money) to make their gil so they obviously didn't play the game and earn the gil they made through the game itself. Gilsellers aren't players either. They continuously use hacks and do things against the ToS. To this game, the ToS is the law we player have to follow. The way I look at it, SE is a government in the game that is supposed to uphold the laws and rights of players in the game. When the laws are broken they are supposed to do something about it but continue to not. While it's true vigilanty justice is not acceptable, to those that follow Locke, there are certain times it is. Those times being when you are invaded on your property and have to defend yourself or if your government fails to uphold the law. You are generally allowed the right to recall and bring new people into power that will follow the laws set by the soveirgn power and uphold them as well. If the powers that be don't follow them and/or uphold them and don't allow for a new person to come into office than generally it's in the people's right to revolution. Revolution generally dethrones those that are unjust and not fit to rule as well as punish those that have also gone against the law. I.E it is a form of vigilanty justice, of sorts. I say, under Locke's beliefs, we are allowed the right to retaliate against the people that wrong us time in and time out when the people who are supposed to uphold the law and keep order aren't doing so. In other words.. Locke says it's ok we screw over gilsellers and people that break the ToS time and time again >.>

and I was against Valkrys stealing the stone, true, but that's because the people the stole from did no wrong to them or anyone for that matter. New group of people that did nothing at all to anyone, in fact where as this group that just got their anmity cape stolen were a group known (and still do) to hack, MPK (well can't anymore as easily), and steal.

I wonder when Vang will show up in this thread and start slapping the idiots defending the gilsellers.. he's always hated gilsellers with a passion :P

Stealing is stealing regardless to whom the crime has been done to.

Murder is murder regardless if you kill the one who slaughtered your family.

...[some good points here]

On a side note: Let this be a reminder to everyone to be more observant.

First, you made some good points, but I have to take issue with some things you said. "Murder is murder" is either a tautology or ignores the fact that the law (rightly) recognizes many different degrees of killing(/murder): manslaughter(/murder)1-2-etc.
The same for theft.
Not to mention, murder has nothing to do with a game. It's just hyperbole on your part.

Sandria said:
To a degree. Let us say if I had a child (..or in the future have a child) and someone brutally murdered and/or raped my child-- and someone played god and took this person's life...

Hyperbole again. This can't possibly work as an analogy. I know you're trying to define how vigilante justice isn't "just", in and of itself, but please, brutally raping and murdering a child... versus stealing a digital item which only has an ascribed and notably limited worth. No dice.

I only picked out the bad parts, most of the rest of what you said in those posts I can agree with.

I guess that also depends on the defination of an asshat. There are several non-RMT who could easily fall into this catagory. And MPKing has, and continues to be, openly admitted by "regular players." Deny it as you will, but yes, a new sky shell can disrupt the regular flow of sky regardless to how minor in comparison it might be in respects to RMT. Blowing smoke? Maybe clearing out smoke clouds that are making it difficult for some to see clearly.

Like I said, neither sittuation effects me directly. I am not planning to buy one've these said capes so when the price of it rises to compinsate the person's loss than I'd perhaps have reason to complain. The distribution of sky gear fails to effect me directly, regardless I can still sell silent oils.

Gir: Intended completely as hyperbole. And, lol, usually am not one to be such a board spammer-- just one've them days.. err nights. ;)

that doesn't make sense D: if you don't care to get the cape and prices raise for an item you don't care for anyways.. what's the point about caring if the price rises O.o

You're argueing semantics, but theres nothing new there, so far all your posts in this thread have been that way. If you fail to notice and comprehend the differences, then thats fine, but the fact that you keep reposting and reposting the same argument worded differently, but equally as ineffectively is getting tiresome.

Everyone understood you dissaprooved from your first post, but everything after that has just been a bleeding heart effort on your part to defend someone unneeding of defence. There are such blatant differences, but you are trying to grasp onto a vauge similarity that exists only in the word "steal". But if you choose to keep your blinders on, you wouldn't notice it I guess.

I completely mis-worded that. lol.

Been up too late.

Basically RMT, like any other company, will compinsate for their loss.

People rejoice now-- and will basically feel the back lash later. Signicantly so, or not so significant. Think I was trying to express that it doesn't effect me in regards to the cape-- because I have not made plans to obtain one. However, whether or not I or anyone else feels the lash in another part of the market is another story all of its own.

lol @ comparing murder/theft/child abuse/anal sex/whatever to duping rmt for amity cape. Golden LOL's all the way.
