The guy at POL did mention at least one other provider having issues, but I can't remember which one.

I just found it odd that when this thread was started all of us had verizon.
 
Sometimes those online techhie things are BS and just have auto responses to certain words, your best bet is to talk to a live rep from Verizon on the phone.
 
welll now it's at least saying "connecting" still never goes pass though
 
and I just switched back to verizon... bad timing man
 
I'm switching tomorrow I think. The whole random d/c stuff used to piss me off to no end, but the fact that they won't even own up to it is pissing me off.

You're right we do pay. I think i pay like 40$ a month now b/c i have the super fast connection. And it is fast. I have no complaints there. It's just unstable /sigh
 
Verizon sucks ass, I have hated this freakin service since the day I moved to my new house in San Bernardino, Ca. I sure as hell miss SBC, that shit was lightning quick and never had any problems with it at all.

FUCK VERIZON!!!!

If it's still not working please do this in the a.m. This is cut from the alla forum:

Just got off the phone with Verzion Online tech support. They aren't aware of any problems connecting to Japan. I explained to them that I was having problems connecting to www.playonline.com and that other ppl on other ISPs can get thru.

So, she suggested that I relay to ppl on forums to call Verizon online tech support 800-567-6789 and let them know that.

1) you are having trouble accessing www.playonline.com
2) Ppl on other ISPs can get thru, so the site is really up.
3) the problem seems to be Verizon Online specific.

The tech support told me that the more ppl who call to let them know the more they will check to see if DNS servers is acting up.

I understand that the problem is with Wiltel. However, I went ahead and phoned Verizon tech support figuring that it couldnt hurt. Surprisingly, the rep was interested in my problem and when I explained that:

1) I am having trouble accessing www.playonline.com
2) Ppl on other ISPs can get thru, so the site is really up.
3) The problem seems to be Verizon Online specific.

I also explained to them that I am not the only person having this problem and that their are web forums full of people complaining about Verizon's inability to connect to select servers in JP. The rep sounded interested, and filled out a report. She also encouraged me to have anyone I know call 800-567-6789.

So I had a similar experience as the quoted poster. Please call them and have this documented!

PS: Be prepared for the 'certain areas in the US are under going maintanence speach' Respond with: 'yes, I understand this, however, my internet is working fine with the exception of a few select servers in JP.' Emphasize points 1-3 posted above and they will file a report.
