WTF - A Lizzy Story

So last night as usual im camping lizzy, im using wiescan and i see alot of Rock Lizards pop up so i figure its soon. I go to the NE side of Lizzy's Rock and start killin some lizards and then she pops; a guy on a choco jumps off but he's too late, i have her. I begin fighting her and we are exchanging blows. She gets to about 1/2 health and im doin fine. Then this guy named Shiutou (i know him and have chilled with him at the rock before) who is a 45-50 pld tosses me a cure 3. Needless to say she turns her attention to him and he runs with lizzy on him im chasin after it tryin to get it to come back to me with my ranged weapon which happened to be a boomerang at the time (17thf/rng) and it fails miserably. I lose sight of her, she gets declaimed and some random person roaming around provokes and kills her. Then says, "whats going on?". I am extremely pissed off. The one guy Touyakun probably had no idea what was going on and was like "hey its liz" i can understand that, i talked to him later about and we are on good terms. I want to believe Shiutou did it by accident because he doesnt seem like that kind of person and he made no attempt to claim it (at least that i could see so who knows). I have heard of people doing this on purpose and it is such a terribly shitty thing to do. So yeah im pissed about it but i dont know if it was on purpose or just an honest mistake, but seriously why is a pld running away from it. Who knows people do wierd shit when a NM pops. So now i am 0/6 and a half with liz. I told Touyakun he owes me some boots , although he didnt get the drop.

Well, from the way it happened it certainly sounds like he tried to screw you out of the lizzy. After he tossed you the cure, he ran away with it. If he was trying to help you he wouldnt have ran. Sorry that happened to you man, NM hunting brings out the worst in people.

Yeah it was intentional, someone told me he used invincible too. He will be the first to my blist next time i talk to him.

That's just plain messed up. Lizzy has got to be the most fricken annoying NM to camp. I want those boots for my RNG & THF, but sick of ppl voking it away from me when my weapon is drawn and I'm trying to hit the damn thing, happened twice now. I use THF/RNG to increase my chance of finding it and getting the drop, so without voke and range having too long of a delay, when my weapon is drawn and I go to hit it, some f*cker vokes on purpose right under my attack. Yeah, NM hunting brings the worst out of people in terms of them being f*cken dicks in the way they play.

Actually, if I saw you just following an NM around and not claiming it, I'd voke it away too. Either ranged shot or use steal or something, or else you'll never get it first. Another trick I haven't experimented with much: Unlock from your target and actually run past the mob a bit, it seems like sometimes that has allowed me to melee a moving target.

Great, now I have to be weary of people who are supposedly being "kind" enough to cure me during a fight for fear they are trying to steal my NM. Just when you think people can't get any lower in this game....

Does having a thief sub (treasure hunter) help with NM drops? Just out of curiousity. There is so much conflicting information out there.

I dunno, I killed Lizzy once and got no drop, I was almost crying, it was sheer luck, I started camping it and within 10 minutes it spawned right on me, kill it, I get a f***ing lizard tail.

I met Shiutou like two nights ago, he wasn't so mean...
but he did tell me he is an excellent Lizzy hunter, 4/6 for the drop, and you posted this like a night before i met him, so maybe the 6th one time might of been yours

I've one time had a bad trouble with an NM, Crypt Ghost, it spawned ON me, but i couldnt target it, i even hit my NM macro

and it didnt target it, i was like, wth, then the PLD nearby voked it, and i was like noooo ; ;
but then it showed up again, i killed it and got the drop =P
and for the NM camping brings the worst out of people, thats only true with some people, i was camping Crypt, and this WAR/MNK(lvl 26) was camping it too, so when it spawned, he voked and got it fair and square, but due to his lower level, he was almost dead(he even used two-hour)
i had 2 choices then, let it kill him and i kill the NM and maybe get drop, or i could heal him, so he wouldn't die
well, i casted Cure III on him, and i did get aggro, but i didn't run with it like a sissy and it didn't matter much, he didn't get drop so...but i don't harshly believe NM hunting brings the worse out of everyone, just most people...

Somewhere, out there, there's a link to an interview with one of the FFXI developers. In it he states that Treasure Hunter works on ALL drops.

And I know how bad NM campers can be...

I missed him once...and the little JP taru that did kill him said

So...I stood in the place where he spawned last time...

And after an hour and a half, Huu Mujuu spawned right on top of me...

Obviously, I got him, but every single person in the area made a beeline for me, and watched while I killed him. It wasn't hard, level 36 War at the time...

And he only dropped Zealot's Mitts...it was an insult to the heart attack I almost had...

Im really torn because before ive had a good relationship with Shiutou. He said he was just trying to cure me and tossing a cure 3 was just random, not intending to draw aggro, but running and then using invincible im just like wtf.

Hoo juu mentonied here? HAve you ever camped hoo juu for 6 horus STRAIGHT and some jap F^%$ gets TWO monster signas. And your spamming voke like a mofo and he vokes it a second before you?! Does this compare to your stories of "Getting the NM" and have it stolen. How about the sheer insanity of raises money for your job becuase you care about the quality of the items. I AM GOING INSANE WITH THIS NM CRAP. IF PEOPLE DID MORE CRAP LIKE BCNM AND SYTHING LINKSHELLS THEN WE WILL ALL BE RICH. The problem with people on our server is they all care for their f---ing selves and dont bother to help anyone else. Get over it and learn to make money WITH others. The outcome will be rewarding, more rewarding than going inssane from 6 hours of bullcrap like i did with hoo juu... There is 30 cans of soda on my floor 5 paper plates of unfishied food a pizza box and two unfinsihed cups of cold coffe. For god sake there are other ways peopoe... /passout.

p.s : This post was really made after camping hoo juu for 6 hours straight. no lies.

Shiutou< This guy also tried to steal my Lizzy, I've been camping her again cuz a friend of mine wants the boots. I just hit invincible and flashed her but I see how everyone else would have a problem with it. Is there anyway to report him for maybe harassment?

that shiutou guy wasnt working with you? after what happened, he was razzing (sorryy mattaru) me for a good half hour about it being your drop and such (which i dont deny), followed by him (sorry mattaru) trying to convince me that i was the (sorry mattaru) worst person on the face of the earth. anyway....yea. weird stuff.

and trust me, when im flippin rich......ill send you some leaping boots
