Wow, lol. I didnt know people could resist spells :P

On a similar subject of spells doing kinda strange things, I didn't know you could do this:

Ive had my Water III resisted not like damage wise but the hole thing got resisted said something like "Oraga casts water III on <target>, <target> resists!" made me go wtf...

Pretty much every single spell in the game can be involved in a skillchain, provided it's timed right and of the correct element. Status spells like Stun just get a better chance to stick, I think. Some people are a little narrow minded when it comes to what works in a SC, not many know, for example, that the Astral Flow bloodpacts can magic burst.

it's expwatch.. a plugin for windower

Cure resist happens once in a blue moon, but I have had it happen about maybe 4 times in the 2 years I have been playing.

It's just a glitch in the game that occasionally happends when the text log is spammed with battle text =/

And every offensive spell in the game can be magic bursted. What I'd like to know, though, is if Cure can be magic bursted XD I think I'll try it in Ballista <.<;

Why don't you try a Cure on a Light SC against a skelly? :)

because that would be offensive <.<;

What I ment was to see if it cures a party/alliance member for more if it's MB'ed XD

Well, I'll try it in Ballista on my WHM on a fusion SC... Hillie and Ivalice did one of those on me two days ago <.<;

I know that a Cure spell can be MB'd on a skeleton during a Light chain, I've seen Saevel do it just for kicks once (Banish is still better damage though XD). As for bursting a cure on your own team member, I don't think it's possible because your team member isn't the target of the skillchain, haha.

Yes it can. Seen it done, have done it myself, only on undead mobs where cure does DMG of course.

I'm not talking undead mobs, I'm talking MB'ing it on a party member

I mean in Ballista silly :P

If you have two mobs, and you skillchain one of them, and say you MB a -ga nuke (or perhaps wiser, a Horde Lullaby or Sleepga) or something? It'll only MB on the thing that got skillchained, will land normally on the other mob. You can't MB on anything other than the target of the skillchain, so you can't MB cures to party members because you're certainly not skillchaining them.

You can, however, MB offensive cures used on undead enemies, on Transfixion/Fusion/Light skillchains. Pretty sure that it's ineffectual to MB a cure on anything not undead, be it a player (in ballista) or any other mob. You'll just get the cure-has-no-effect spiel.

But I'm not much of a ballista player so for all I know, curing your opponents in ballista (however illogical a concept) actually heals them.

Regarding the Water III getting "resisted" outright (as opposed to the normal concept of a nuke resist where it'll land but just do pathetic single-digit damage or something) ... that only happens against enemies *immune* to magic.

You probably saw it on either a floating eye, or a magic pot. Both of those mobs have an ability that gives them the status "Magic Shield", which temporary makes *every* spell (be it nuke or debuff, though I think Dispel/Finale can still go through to remove Blaze Spikes although not Magic Shield itself), be 100% guaranteed to get an outright resist.

Vilurum, I know you can't MB Cures on your party if you SC on the mob, and that's not even what I mentioned <.<; I mean *only* in Ballista. Quite honestly, I don't think it works. But it's something I still want to try, just for the pleasure of trying it out.

Can you cure a member of the other team in Ballista? Cause if not, I don't think it would work. Technically, if the other theam SC on your teammate, you can't MB on their SC, they are not in your party.

But feel free to try it, stranger things have happened! :)

That's why I was thinking it won't work, but I still want to try just to see if it's possible ^^
