WTF? Windy Last AGAIN?

Except that no new player is going to have the money to buy them, so they'd be camping them which renders r/ex meaningless.

We expect brand new players to have bounding boots now? Wasn't aware of that. Considering the droprate, I wouldn't expect someone new to get them at lvl 7 for their first job. By the time they are ready to start pimping out their char they can easily make the gil to buy them, especially with our all but dead economy.

Pilgrim's wand's usefulness ends at 51 exactly.

So these new players camping bounding boots have already made it through CoP I guess.

Hmm... For some reason, the thought of Pas and Tris holding up welcome signs that say "We've got wood" makes me feel creepy.
True, it'd bring Bastok's Prez running across the Sea >.>

We should work on our slogan. I suggest "Could be worse, could be San d'Oria."

I like it. How about "Now entering Windurst, Beware of Dog"?

I don't expect players on their first job to have a O. kote, Noble's Tunic, or a soboro sukehiro; that doesn't change the fact that those items are a shit load better than any alternatives and are still obtainable. Pilgrim's wand is useful, but Bounding boots are useful to more jobs and have literally no alternatives. Pilgrim's wand is a macro piece anyways, just like dark staff for the most part. Bounding boots would be worn full time unless you've got mithra/Taru RSE.

What? What part of Pilgrim's wand is completely useless beyond 51 means that it's still useless when you're under 51 for any reason?

He was referring to using it in level capped gear for CoP, I think.

Personally, I like Windurst because it's the token nature-riffic (couldn't think of another word there) town. My first character was in Sandy and I was tired of being surrounded by snooty elves and Bastok was just plain ugly. Gustaberg may have leaping lizzy, but its a horribly bleak area with irritating music. Saruta was pretty and had a nice chipper tune.

I know what he was referring to, it was pretty obvious. What I'm asking is how does me saying that Pilgrim's wand has zero purpose past 51 mean that it's not still useful for level capped areas/fights?

I'm just curious as to how any of that is relevant, seeing as a Bastokan or San d'Orian can cheerfully hike over to West Saruta for a Pilgrim's Wand, and the same can be said of any other local NM drops. City layout arguments and storyline arguments make more sense than that BS. :P

well the pilgrim's wand is good for about 40 lvls. where the dark staff is good for 24.
THAT MAKES WINDY BETTER!!!!!! RAWR!!!!!!!!!

Bah Kazham rules with a might mithran fist! (Just don't come around during that time of the month >.>)

Really I am biased but I think Windy has an awesome storyline and lots of fun quests. The S.O.B. cutscenes are some of my favorite. Plus you have to have to come to Windy to get Fenrir and Diablos.

Perssonally, I like sandy. Because I can mpk the noob zones with Nm's eheee, But that's about it.

Yeah, except 2/3 of your exp is level 50+, so you're spending way more time with a dark staff. Plus all the time you spend in endgame.
