Yeah.. I got an add like this from some strange dude a few weeks ago too. He was asking if I had any gil to sell, lol. Something about his company running low on gil or something. It was hilarious, since I only had 100k on me at the time XD

Edit: I found the email of the person on my list that was asking me. It's [email protected] and his display name is Arthur.

Haha! I woke up this morning to this guy adding me. No idea who he was. Now I see this, and now he's banned. XD

Any of you seen some of the automated bot scripts you can use over AIM?
The guy seems to respond in a similar manner to a lot of the comments said... I.e. repeating a single word with a ? at the end.

It just as easily could be a not-very-fluent chinese gilbuyer, but it would be much funnier imo if it were a bot :P
 
He answers some things better than a bot I think...either way thats pretty funny

That is an interesting way to contact people to sell a product. A very bad example of personal selling. This type of information gathering is better known as phising.

If these people keep contacting or sending e-mail to everyone with MSN, I would suggest putting something in the middle of the e-mail that most people would know to remove before contacting via MSN (fake e-mail for example):

[email protected]; which is easily available to anyone who happens to browse on QCDN.
[email protected]; The e-mail is still there and even though this would be more of a manual process to remove the filler and contact you.

Why most people do not enjoy the aspect of RMT is lack of market research (and little or no allocation of money to look at it effectively). Besides it being looked down upon by many (especially SE and the ToS agreement), the tactics to grab people to either buy or sell currency is pushy, like that of the telemarketers (ie the credit card offers that refuse to hear no until you hang up the phone on them). Not sure if they even have any kind of trainning but if so, it seems that comparable to a first time job at a retail chain. Still there are ethics in selling practices that do not seem to be observed and thus why there are negative actions between player and the folks working for RMT companies.

In a nutshell: Bad marketing tactics can make a consumer have a negative attitude about the product or service being advertised. When a product is percieved against their values (one who does not want to break ToS with SE/EULA, fair gaming), it also places it on the negative side.

So of course when bombared with pop ups and e-mail/MSN the first thing that comes to my mind is: "This is annoying" and I promptly delete or close the box. Then most of us go use our RL money on something else that does not have as obnoxious advertising (Starbucks, new outfit, etc).
 
it nice to see that there hurting as well. Is it possible that this is a brand new virtual exchange company and maybe this is why we see more sellers in game?
