WTF ...............

oh please, give us all a break. stop acting like the guy said anything to trivialize the sacrifices made by Canadian soldiers. there was no ignorance, misinformation, or bad taste here. he just stated a fact and then made a parody out of it, that's what parody shows do.

if you want to be outraged at someone maybe you should be looking at your own government or yourselves. you have allowed your country's military to become a shell of the force it once was. you have insulted your troops with inferior weapons and training. taking a year break from a war that barely even qualifies as war should be a clear sign that your military is in serious need of help.

stop pretending that you are trying your best, and do something about it. otherwise i suggest you just say "thank you" for providing the protection that has allowed your country to become so lax with its military budget.

Common knowledge to you maybe because you're informed. I still get "WUT THERE'S NOWAI JIM CARREY IS FROM CANADA!"

See, I didn't know that Jim Carrey was from Canada either, but it makes sense.

I still stand by the fact that, up until the late 1990s, if one wanted to make it in show business (for realz, yo), they had to move either to New York (for TV) or to Los Angeles (for movies). Only in the past 10-15 years has that really begun to change.

lol. You silly.

And no, it's not all Americans, but the whole 'lolcanada' thing grates on the nerves after a little while and it's not just that one "news" broadcast that is guilty of it. Calling us America Jr. or America's hat or America's little brother makes it sound like we need taking care of or that we are insignificant, when that's just not true.

lolcanada :awesome:

See? Thanks for the quote. It made it easier to point out that, while a lot of Americans aren't ignorant assholes, people like smalls do exist. The entire thing was misinformed as well as ignorant and in bad taste. You obviously don’t have the capacity to understand. Canada went to help, did we ask for a thank you? No. Do we ever? No. What we don’t ask for is douches to slap our country in the face, especially the faces of the soldier's families who were killed fighting. No bad taste when Fox News mocked the Canadian military on the same day that four Canadian soldiers died in an IED explosion in Kandahar? People like you are disgusting.

We are a peacekeeping country, you want to sentence thousands of your own people to death, go ahead, but stop expecting other countries to help you out when all you do is shit on them.

Therefore much of our taxes go towards our healthcare... you know that 'perk' us Canadians have that sooo many Americans swear they'll move here to benefit from.

That being said, more taxes towards healthcare as well as other things means less for military equipment/operations. Oh well. We're also a UN governed military.. ask yourself if you're educated on the functionality of the UN in times of war.

do you even know what ignorant of misinformed means? what am i, or greg (the red eye host), ignorant or misinformed about. there was only one piece of information given in the clip and no one can deny its accuracy. you also cant deny your country has played a pretty limited role in the war. don't pretend like your attempts at helping aren't half-assed at best.

what difference does it make if fox mocks your military on the day some soldiers died, its not like he attributed your country's weakness to the people who died. if this had been said two weeks from now would anyone even care? its unfortunate that people have to die to protect their country but you can't let that effect your sense of reason.

you say a lot of Americans aren't ignorant assholes yet up until a few days ago when it suddenly became an issue every American would agree that Canada's military was a joke. hell, every Canadian would probably have agreed, of course no one will admit to that now. not because they don't want to admit it, but because they honestly don't remember ever having that thought. i cant stand all you sheep, who have never had an original thought in you lives. you just sit at your computers and televisions waiting for someone to tell you what you should be mad about this week. you are the disgusting ones. you're right about one thing though, i defiantly do not have the capacity to understand how you people come up with this crap.

oh and thank you for feeding the troll, i get quite bored waiting for people to respond.

Ignorant and misinformed because you (and he) obviously know very little about the Canadian Army and what it has done/been doing. I don't need to say much here, your posts just prove everything I've already said, you're ignorant.

Ignorance is the state in which a person lacks knowledge and is unaware of various issues in general.

Go ahead and post more though, you're just furthering the insight that you are a tool. This isn't an issue of "It's on the news now, so lets get mad about it", obviously you don’t read current events, or just don’t care, to see that this has been happening for years and we are sick of it.

As for Canadians thinking that our Forces are a joke? Again, proves your ignorance, you obviously know very little about Canada and feel the need to put words into an entire country's mouth. We are damn proud of our Army, we always have been.

Honestly.. what the fuck do you know about our my countries contributions? You probably wouldn't know when the troops were first sent over and when our contract ends if it weren't for google. In fact what information you MAY have is probably all based on what you've read on the internet, I wonder how accurate that may be.. you know.. considering it's highly confidential not to mention most of the sources are probably American. So don't kid yourself.

The Canadian military went into Afghanistan to try and rebuild from the utter fucking mess it was made when the US invaded, while the majority of the US troops were then sent into Iraq to start a new war with a fraction left in Afghanistan to help reestablish some kind of civilization.

Like someone mentioned earlier the American citizens know very little about what takes place in Canada as a whole, news related and such because it's not deemed news worthy.

I feel like telling you to go crawl back under your rock. In fact I believe I just did, hot damn!

Ahh, where to start?
First, yes I am aware that the show is sattire. Second yes, I also know that it comes with additional bad timing of the brave soldiers that just lost their lives in Afghanistan.

In America we mock everyone and everything, including more than anything ourselves. I really only tend to take offense to people(individuals) who are both easily offended and careless in "dishing it out" so to speak.

While it is true that in present days Americans make fun of everything, especially ourselves, it's sad that we've lost the ability to put that through a filter of good taste. I personally believe that even in a culture where freedom of speech is the norm, it's not right to speak freely, but not take any responsibility for what you say and call it, "Freedom of speech." I'm not saying you can't say anything that's going to offend someone, but you should really, really consider things before you say something about brave men and women whom fought and died for a cause that wasn't really their own. And, at the very least, you should take responsibility for them when you step over the line.

The reason that Canada's military is in the situation it's in is because, unlike the american government, they don't continue to dump more and more funds into hardware and people that they don't need to deploy overseas.

I thought this was going to be a lot more ranty, but I've run outta steam, so I guess I'll leave it at that.

To all military personnel, American, Canadian, British or whatever, I commend your courage and may God protect you while you work to protect quiet, cowardly people like me and stupid obnoxious people like these comedians, whether we deserve it or not!

Kind of hard not to when he's spewing absolute garbage.

This forums is for real life related posts. If you don't care about the real life of others, don't read it.

Obviously he does not care about others so why is he posting? Obviously the deaths of soldiers fighting and dying in a war are to be laughed at and mocked. Right?

Yes. There is a difference between being satirical and crossing a line. Some dude making fun of Canada in regards to maple syrup and beavers is one thing, but having disregard for human life and having absolutely no compassion, when the hell did that become 'funny'? I'm truely sad for your society if even a remote populous finds it laughable.

Yeah Canada, what's this talk of taking breaks to reoutfit your tanks? You should recklessly throw your underequipped military to the front lines like real Americans. FUCK YEAH.

LOL. You sir, are hilarious.

Funny thing is, these guys reputations are completely tarnished across Canada. I'm sure it put a bad taste in some Americans mouths as well for who heard it.

Well I guess it's not really funny at all actually.

It is sort of funny that they spend time mocking us but won't spend time reporting any actual news. My sister lives in Denver now, and it's impossible for her to get any Canadian news.

I also find it funny how America is so often refered to as the greatest country in the world. You have to admit that the American media is pretty far up it's own ass.

Oh, and we don't speak the same language as you, WE speak the same language as Britain. Nothing we have was adopted from you.

The USA has never used or done anything at all on this list?

Also, I forgot that the USA has never ever adopted the Blackberry either.

Cheebs, Mire.. it looks like us Canadians have been beat! Not only is our country inferior and useless, but we've never done ANYTHING for the U.S.A :awesome:

Edit: My mistake.

lol try again.

i find it funny you think the two have something to do with each other. and im pretty sure we speak the same language.

lol try again.

What is there is to try? There's a short list of Canadian contributions, because there are no doubt more than that list provides. He said that you guys have adopted nothing of ours, I disagree. Please eleborate on your short and uninformative sentence.

I think its cute you're just arguing for the sake of arguing. Way to push that 'ignorant American' stereotype.

hes canadian, he was talking about the u.s. contributing nothing to canada

Fair enough, I admit my mistake. I'm just used to Americans bashing Canadians in this post and I got defensive.

Edit: Acutie, it's kind of dumb to say we haven't adopted anything from America, because we have, in great lengths. Watching Canadian TV is atrocious.
