So, I made some time to go on the massive subligar hunt with everyone tonight. I had to clear some scheadule, and I had to do somehting I don't like, but I made time to go and help/get my subligar.

Being as I wanted to come prepared I read into the quest fully on alla... and then I got pissed.

Now, I've been looking forward to this. Not only because it's a group event that soudns fun, but because the Rapperre Harness is slick as all hell to me. Planned to swap it in/out for TP in xp parties at fifty.

So when I hear you need a piece of AF armor *52* on you to trigger this quest, and THEN wear level fifty-eight armor to FINISH it... it broke my little heart!

I'm honestly pissed about this. Being a great Thief is my primary goal in this game. Having all the subs, skills, and equipment to get complimented on my job. Do I need an ego boost? No. I just want to be one of the best Thieves out there, and I want to be recognized for it.

But NOOOOOOOOOO, I'll be missing a piece of gear because SE decided they LIKE boning me out of lv.50 JSE...

As if all the people who took a job to sixty-plus and have flown by my hard farming Thief isn't enough to make my shoulder's hitch... now I can't even take my job to it's full potential.

What the hell do you want em to do SE? Level another job to fifty-eight just so I can be a great Thief?

Flmaing now, submitting several different messages to SE later... I can;t &*($&$^ belive this.

Well, to put into some perspective for you. I could easily gain 10k exp and raise my dagger skill cap with merit on my THF who is below your level. Does that mean they should scrap the merit point system?

Not really. I didn't have subligar on my first 75 job at all. I didn't have merit points. I didn't even have a THF to help generate gil. Now Squaresoft has just cut out a large percentage of the exp towards 75 that I had to get in order to be able to get those merit points. If you want to compare yourself to someone who's much further along in the game than you keep that in perspective.

He's referring to getting the Harness, which in order to get, requires wearing some level 58-ish crap, and by that time, he won't need the Harness OR subligar.

You don't have to wear level 58 gear. Brygid gives you 2 random pieces of gear to wear that your job can wear. Both times I've done it, the gear has been 50 at the most.
