X-Men Origins: Wolverine Trailer leaked.

The same reason the bulk of X-Men characters are still 20-30 years old, despite the comic books having started up in the 60s, and content in the comics changing to match whats going on in the real world as mankind progressed in science. I mean, thats why the X-men, as well as most comic book characters, aren't geriatric. They basically live in a universe where they're locked in time, but the rest of the world isn't.

Your friend needs to not whine about this particular issue, because retconning to modernize things slightly in the franchise is commonplace(New series runs, for example.) As long as the spirit and story of how Logan became Wolverine remains, it's fine. Though, that doesn't look like it'll happen.

Yeah all origins update with the time. It's how they keep characters in comics from dying of old age.

I can't manage to view it, did they take it down?

Eh, I've never been too big of a fan of Wolverine, but I will go watch it being the comic book nerd that I am lol

That excuse might fly is it was the origin of another person but wolverine is 100~200 years old in the comics as it is. His healing factor keeps him from aging essentially.(this was mentioned in the movies even) since the guy doesnt really age much and judging from the wolverine:the end comics he wont even get old for at least 300 years and that's only because the damned adamantium is taking up most of the resources in his healing factor. since it's an origin and therefore he doesnt have adamantium slowing down his healing; aging is and always has been a complete non-issue for any wolverine origin.
Be honest here. they wanted to "spice things up". They couldnt just go show his actual origin and explain why wolverine loves redheads so much. Batshit insane mothers and dirty old groundskeepers named Logan dont do well on the big screen i guess? Gutting a plot is much easier than taking something practically written out for you and trying to improve upon it. I know america traditionally doesnt like people that aren't American very much but did you really HAVE to change him like that.
Dont even get me started on deadpool. The Deadpool i read and imagine doesnt fit in this movie in any way. unless he spends the entire time with ADD overdrive while making snappy comebacks and constantly breaking the fourth wall enough to upstage wolverine in this the deadpool isnt a proper one in that movie.

True, but the whole x-men series has been fucked up so i'm sure they don't care about this one either? lol I swear, why do people who do x-men feel they have to include every damn character? It makes the movie's terrible because they can't develop them so therefore they just end up focusing on wolverine, the most overused/overrated/not even that powerful super hero.

ok first of all, whether u like it or not, wolverine is quite possibly the most popular character in the x-men universe. thus, it makes sense to devote an entire for film to his story because more ppl are likely to see it which equals more money for the studio. also, im not sure if u realize that the over-all storyline has been changing for quite some time, long before the movies ever came out. comics are basically social commentary. and with the changing times they must also adapt and evolve in order to stay relevant. i choose to see the inclusion of random mutants in the films like easter eggs. u either get it, or u dont. if u do, it makes he experience all the more rewarding. if u dont, well u aint missin much. plus, if u've ever taken the time to read any of the books ur already well versed in each of the characters base storylines. taking the time to develop each mutant just further bogs down the experience as a whole and takes away from the mass appeal of the film. remember, they try and tailor these for a mass audience. i personally dont think the character of wolverine is all that either, but as a fan of the books i'll take ANY excuse to catch a glimpse of one of my favorites on screen.

I never said Wolverine wasnt poplular. He's the second most to Spiderman which is pretty damn popular. I said he's overrated and overused, never said not popular.

Also I know the comics are ever changing, but I quit reading them after Grant Morrison's run with New X-men. I liked his direction, I liked that he had wolverine cut Magneto's head off (thats right magneto died again, and was hoping that was it). When he left the next writer brought back Magneto right off, which sucked, because i was getting tired of the characters being killed off then brought right back with the next writer. It's gotten worse as the years went by.

I started reading Astonishing X-men when it first came out and I thought it was awesome. I liked how the focused on a smaller group. I can't stand too many characters.

But yeah, though I don't read comics anymore (money goes to other things like school and my engagement) doesn't mean i don't know about them. In my attic I have thousands of dollars worth of comics lol.

Marvel actually doesn't usually mess with their main timeline very much. They just make literally hundreds of alternate timelines instead. A lot of very important world events are tied into the characters and their backstories (WW2 being one of the more prominent) so they can't just bump things up like other stories do. If you're the type to keep track of such things, you can see that there are hundreds of timelines outside of the main ("Earth-616") one. The X-Men movies for example take place in the Earth-2000714 timeline.

I keep getting Rick rolled trying to find that leak, I really want to see what Deadpool looks like.

I have Deadpool #1 - #33, all air sealed in mint condition. Ryan Renolds really is good for playing Wade Wilson, but he doesn't look deformed ? Also I think it would be best if Wolverine did not fight Deadpool in this movie, considering Deadpool treats Wolverine line a plaything, and gets the better of him with ease, and this is Wolverine's movie.
